"I love this Doctor’s Office! Dr. Johnson and all the staff I’ve encountered through my multiple appointments are lovely and really go above and beyond. I’d recommend them to anyone looking for a new provider!"
"It's not the miscommunication, it's not the doctor that was irritated or the discomfort she gave but how exactly do you lie and say in fine when I have symptoms and just found out I have a UTI and they said I'm fine after coming up there twice and giving urine "a cured patient is a lost customer.""
"First let me say that I loved having Dr. Schweitzer as my PCP. My issues are with TriStar and the office policies itself. I have gone to Dr. Schweitzer for the last 5 years. She is a wonderful doctor and very nice. I have only encountered 1 rude staff member the whole time I have been going there, if you have the pleasure to meet her she will be the very judgmental, condescending and rude one. Everyone else in this office is amazing. But 1 day prior to my appointment the office called me to tell me that they were cancelling my appointment because they are no longer taking my insurance, which they stopped taking almost 2 weeks prior and waited to the last minute to tell anyone, they even confirmed my appointment already. I asked if I could be seen as a cash patient as I have medicines that were being refilled at my quarterly appointment. I was told as long as that is my insurance they cannot see me, and if I wanted to cancel my insurance then they could see me. What doctors office would advise people to cancel their insurance? I personally believe that every patient should have the right to one final appointment to figure things out when you decide to drop their insurance that they selected specifically because Dr. Schweitzer's office took it. But this office/company only cares about money and contracts and not patient care or they would figure out something for patients to get care. I was willing to pay out of pocket fully for this appointment and was told no that would not be an option. I have tried to call and set up an appointment to meet with the office manager just so I can say how I feel about this whole situation but I have never received a call back. Very disappointed in the office/company. I will make sure to not support TriCare facilities of any kind going forward."
"The Summary: I asked Dr. Schweitzer to refill my medication as I transitioned to a new doctor. She denied it and refused to see me again for no reason. The Long Version: The Preface: I would first like to say that I am not one to leave a negative review. In fact, immediately following my frustrating encounter with Dr. Schweitzer's office I reached out to a doctor friend of mine to see if the actions taken by her office is something that is a typical occurrence in the field and I am just uneducated about it. I was told that it was not and will give more detail below. Some Context: I've been with Dr. Schweitzer for about a year and a half as a patient. She helped me with some issues that I was dealing with and for that I am thankful. In my time as a patient with her I was never late for an appointment and only canceled once, which I did 5 days in advance. I bring this up because when you become a patient with her practice you sign a paper that states that if you are late or no show to an appointment 3 times they have the right to send you a Letter of Denial, which is essentially a letter saying they will no longer treat you as a patient. I am fine with this, a lot of people need to see a doctor. If someone is routinely late or no shows it throws off the rest of the appointments and takes up slots for other people who may have medical needs. I have no issue with this but bring it up because the Letter of Denial comes into play in my issue, even though I followed the attendance policy listed above. The incident: I recently decided to switch doctors so my wife and I can be under the same provider. I canceled my appointment with Dr. Schweitzer 5 days prior to the scheduled date, as I would be doing a similar check up with the new doctor in about a month and did not see a need to pay for 2 of the same types of appointments. I called Dr. Schweitzer's office to ask if they could refill my medication to last up to my new providers visit. I was told by my doctor friend that this request was normal and is generally handled in a professional manner to allow a smooth transition to the new provider. After explaining that and requesting the refill from Dr. Schweitzer's office, I was told they would check with her and call me back. Multiple days past with no return call, so I followed up. I was told today, that not only did Dr. Schweitzer refuse my refill request but she informed her staff to send me a Letter of Denial. So she will no longer see me, even if I did want to reschedule prior to my new practices appointment, to get my medication refilled. Analysis of the issue: While it is frustrating that she did not offer to refill my prescription, I have learned through conversations with other medical professionals that some doctors have a strict policy of no refills if they haven't seen the patient in 6 months. It has been 8 months since my last appointment I was not aware that she had this policy prior to my request. That is not my main issue though. It is that she sent me a Letter of Denial for simply asking her to help with my transition to a new provider. I will reiterate that I was never late to an appointment and have only canceled once, which I did 5 days prior to the appointment. That is an acceptable amount of time based on the document that I signed stating that I understand their denial policy. So why did I not get the professional courtesy of being offered an alternative? No suggestion of reschedule or an option of a telehealth visit. Instead I was told we will not help you and you can never come back. One of the medications I will be coming off in the in-between has the potential of serious side effects if abruptly stopped. I am on a low dosage and hope that when I run out there will not be strong side effects. There is one thing I know though. Dr. Schweitzer and her practice doesn't care. I found this interaction to be Unethical, unprofessional, and overall disappointing. Be wary if you decide to go with her as your doctor."
