"Don’t bring them here. I’ve been coming here with my three children, 5,4 and 3 for 2 years and every time I am in there it is a secretive interaction. Parents are not allowed to go to the back to accompany the child and unnecessary procedures are being filed. The dentist herself does qualified work. However, it is unnecessary. Almost as if she is just trying to run the insurance to get billed and paid. The older receptionist on the side that schedules the appointments is always gossiping and making the environment uneasy. I will not be coming back."
"All 4 of my children have been coming here for awhile. In 2014 when we started coming here I was allowed to go back with my children and now I am not at all. I understand Covid restrictions but even hospitals lifted Covid restrictions. In June I took all 4 of my kids ages 13,8,6, and 3 for their check up and cleaning. When they called us I started to walk back assuming they’d let me go with my 3 year old but they said I couldn’t. My 13 year old daughter was going back with all of them so that kind of eased my mind. So they get done with their check up and cleaning and the hygienist says “ok the receptionist will go over every thing with you . I was again surprised I wasn’t going to speak with the dentist but I figured since the dentist didn’t come out to speak with me it must mean everything looked good. WRONG! The receptionist told me since my children’s last check up (6 months prior and they had ZERO cavities) that my 13 year old had 4 cavities, my 8 year old had 6, and that my 6 year old had 5!!!!! She then said they would need to be sedated for fillings. I know my kids I’ve seen them get stitches and shots they do not need to be sedated. She also told me that the work would need to be broke up over multiple visits . The sedation was 200 bucks per sedation they wanted two per kid so just with sedation I was going to be charged 600 bucks for something they didn’t need. My total bill for everything was about 5000 bucks. The whole thing seemed off so I took them to my dentists. My kids had an exam and X-rays and guess what???????? Not one of my kids has a cavity and I was encouraged to go with them during exam. I don’t ever write negative reviews but something’s weird when a dentist doesn’t speak to parents and you can’t go back with your own child. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!"
"Murrieta childrens dentistry has a horrible policy of not letting parents back. Was ok with me for normal checkups. They wanted to use gas on my 6 yr old for simple fillings. As it was the first time for any dental work for him, I wanted to go back with him. I was told no. It’s their policy. When i explained I didn’t feel comfortable with him going under the gas without me present, they still said no. They did not even offer to have the dentist come talk to me as I have met him once. They did not try accommodate me at all and stated “ it’s our policy and you signed it”. This is a red flag to me and we will definitely be finding a new dentist."
"Since the pandemic started, the office implemented a new policy: no parents are allowed to come in with their children, at all, not for checkups, not for cleanings, not for any procedure. Additionally, parents must wait outside of the office and wait to be called back to pick up their children. I did not like the new policy, but I understood the reasoning behind it. Since the new policy my son had visited the office 2-3 times, and I agreed to not go in the back because, again, they were only check ups and rather quick visits which my son is familiar and comfortable with. My son is autistic, condition that comes with sensory challenges. I had never had the need to mention it to the staff because his condition had not interfered with their work and his experience had been pleasant, thus far. Fast-forward to his cavity-filling appointment, I contacted the office on Monday 11/08 and left a message. Come Wednesday 11/10 (the day before his procedure) and was yet to hear form them, so I called them again. I was able to speak someone this time around and explained to her that this procedure was new to him (an 8 yr. old autistic child with sensory challenges) and that, if at all possible, they could allow me to be in the back with him, in case he panicked or needed me in any way (we are talking about an 8 yr. old here). I would in no way interfere with the dentist's work, I simply wanted him to have the best experience possible, given his circumstances. I am disappointed to say that the receptionist was in no way sympathetic or helpful. She simply said something along the lines of "we've never made that exception, but come in to the appointment and talk to the doctor and see what she says". She could have said "let me ask my supervisor/the doctor/whoever, and see what we can do and call you back" or she just could have given me a definite NO, there's no way we are accommodating your son. Her demeanor was that of someone who did not care at all, in no way I felt there was a chance for me to come in with my child or that she even cared. I understand they have hundreds of patients and that my son is not special to them, so whether he goes back or not, doesn't matter. However, this is not acceptable. This is my personal experience with this office, if yours has been better (probably not given the reviews I've seen) I am so happy for you because all children deserve the best treatment possible. I did not ask for special treatment, I asked for accommodations needed for an 8 yr. old with a disability. Just because his disability is not visible does not mean he doesn't have one. Just like people in wheelchairs need accommodations, autistic children (on any side of the spectrum) need certain accommodations as well. I will be consulting if his ADA rights were violated in any way. Since then, I have contacted a different provider, who does allow parents to be in the office with their minor children during their visits. Needless to say, we will never go back to this office."
"My kids have been coming here since 2009 and they had nothing but a positive experience and great dental visits every time. They never had any serious dental issues thanks to the great care they received. My son is now 18 and my daughter is 15 so we moved them to our family practice. I will always be grateful to Dr. Kim and her staff for helping both my kids develop great dental habits. They accepted our military insurance and we never felt that we were being taken advantage of or over charged for any services or procedures. Personally, it doesn’t get any better then this for a children’s dentistry."
