"I have lived here for almost a year! The where rot and mold is no joke.. they refuse to take care of the problem ! There is mold everywhere and wood rot! Called a metro codes agent. They have a few days to fix everything, or they will be going to court filed by metro codes!! I filed against you guys with the state!! I have an autoamune disease, and they are making me breathe this in! They go into you apartment without telling you. They hid keys to go into my rooms above door ways. I found them. They are rude and sneaky!"
"I cannot recommend Piccadilly Apartments. There is simply no justification for the price in the area. I am a 5+ year resident currently dealing with cheap appliances, poor maintenance work (ground-keeping and unit upkeep), and high rent. New management (2023) has been inconsistent in communicating with tenants and something as simple as paying rent is unnecessarily difficult (online payments only- also thanks for the extra fees!) Volunteer Properties needs to do better!!"
"I lived here for about 5 years and my experience is not good. In 2019 I had a major leak, and it flooded my apartment. They respond to the issue but only gave me a one-night stay at a hotel and I paid some fees. I was able to move into a different unit. They pushed me into getting my furniture out even though my insurance adjuster told me not to. I've been having multiple issues with leaks off and on in this apartment unit that I'm in. Fast forward to this year, I turned in my 60-day notice and I leave in November. They charged my rent for the full month even though I'm living here for 9 days. I spoke with the Property Manager about this, and she agreed that it is too much and that it would be lowered to around $300. I also told her that I must leave due to my Mother sick with cancer and I must go and take care of her. She told me that if it doesn't change on November 1st to call back. So, I did call and spoke with a different Property Manager. I had to pay the full amount and that I turned my notice early. I explained what the other lady said and all I got was according to the lease this and that. so now I'm having to pay the full month rent and have nothing left to financially support my Mom and until I get a new job. The only positive thing about this Complex is the Maintenace crew. They respond in a timely manner and help with any problems I have. All I want now is to just move out peacefully on the 9th and be done with it."
"The current property manager as of 10/10/2023 at Piccadilly Apartments is the worst property manager I have ever had to deal with. She doesn't communicate to the residents, and she made moving out of the complex the most difficult thing on the planet. There is no wiggle room on the 30-day notice, and there is no willingness to do a walk thru of an apartment after 5 pm m-f or anytime during the weekend. FYI, the email listed on the corporate site (Volunteer Properties) forwards your email to the property manager of the property you reside at. The phone number on the corporate site will only forward your phone call to the property of which you reside. The address on the corporate site does NOT send you to the corporate office, but rather a building with multiple store fronts. Every year, the rent will go up, sometimes by $60, and other years by $200. Last spring (2022), they said we were supposed to get new community grills to be placed near the pool and that they were on backorder, we still have not seen them. When given my lease to renew, I was told, in writing, that the month-to-month fee was $100. The month right before I went month-to-month, they increased it to a $200 fee. I was forced to pay rent for 10 days, of which I am not living there, to finish up my 30 day notice. Three to four days after I handed in my keys, they started renovating the apartment, while I am still paying for the unit because there is no wiggle room on the 30day notice. So, I feel like I am paying for their renovations to the unit. Does that seem fair?"
"I lived here for two an a half years and they royally screwed me on my departure. I gave accurate 60 day notice with all rent payments made and up to date with out a SINGLE late rent payment. They have charged me for a month of rent after move out because I moved out a month early with ample notice the reason in the letter as to why I was getting charged was because they couldn’t find someone to rent the apartment. This however is not my problem and I should not be paying for that time when I followed my 6 month lease notice. When I sent them my notice they asked for a forwarding address to send my security deposit refund and said ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about a fee regarding the notice. Additionally they PRORATED my final months rent in the apartment- why would they do that if they were going to also charge me another month. I am severely dissatisfied and angry with the level of service and lack of communication from this company."
