"My two boys and I have been coming here for about 9 years. We had an amazing experience with the previous owners and the same amazing experience with the new owners. We had moved to Ventura right about the time the ownership transition had occurred, and so we didn't come for about 8 months or so. But, after trying to find a new place, we decided to go back to Golden Scissors. We now drive from Ventura to Port Hueneme at least every two weeks for haircuts and it is worth every bit of the quality and experience. Honestly, it feels like it's just another family member cutting our hair. To me, that is worth the trek across town. Thank you Golden Scissors!!!"

"basically had someone train their barber skills on my hair. Uneven cut, and chopped up in the back. I called ahead to make appointment, when I got there my stylist couldn't communicate in the same language, and so the owner/manager didn't effectively translate what I wanted done to the stylist. I think that this problem is caused when the stylist and person getting their hair cut should be able to communicate throughout the hair cut, but aren't able to... Can't imagine why some people leave positive reviews... They're just lies"

"Owner doesn't speak English and I desperately wanted to get my hair cut (14 inches for donation). Arrived after closing time, wasn't aware of it, a lady - my assumption who was a relative or friend helped with translation before she left and said she would take me after she's done with the current client. I waited for about 15mins before she attended to me. The entire session, she was just talking in Spanish to another friend/relative that was just hanging out there. Oh well I guess that's better than complete silence As far as haircut goes, it was not terrible but the sides were not even at all. I asked for bob about shoulder length so I could still tie my hair, she chopped off a couple inches above shoulder. I don't really care, the hair will grow but just disappointed that my request wasn't adhered to"

"This place is great! Prices are very reasonable and I've been very happy with their customer service. Maria definitely listens and respects the hair color and style you're going for and will do as you ask. I was hesitant to get some highlights but when I explained I wanted to go for something subtle,I was very pleased with the results!!!"
