"Honestly, if you have any issues, just go to SHC. The doctors and nurses are amazing, caring people, and establishing care is easy your freshman year. They work well with private insurance & are upfront about costs. One thing I dislike is front desk staff, who seem to be often irritated and condescending to patients. Overall, good, as they have provided me with probably some of the best care I've had as a Tennesseean."
"The docs and nurse were great, but none wore gloves. Also front desk staff could be more welcoming. They weren't very clear when they spoke and some acted like they didn't like their jobs... not welcoming and friendly..."
"Completely lied to me on the phone. Told me that if I wanted a strep test (because I was exposed to strep) that I wouldn’t need to worry about covid things. Then, when I came in, they had me get a covid test because I was getting the vaccine the next day and wanted me to be safe (it wasn’t much of a suggestion, was more along the lines of: you need to do this), which was then followed by a call from housing trying to move me into the covid dorm because I had taken a “symptomatic covid test.” I obviously didn’t want to go into a covid dorm when I had no symptoms, so I was forced to rent a hotel room off campus for the night. Horrible coordination between the front desk, doctors, and housing that ended up costing me $100+"
"Customer service is a joke. I keep receiving emails about an outstanding bill. I live in another state and have never visited this facility. The operator said she didnt know where to transfer me because I didnt know the dept. After multiple explanations she transferred me to a nice lady that tried to help. But she couldnt find me so she transferred me to billing (WHY WASNT I TRANSFERRED HERE FIRST??). Whose only explanation that someone had the same email as me?? Uhhh do you know how email works?"
"I've had good experiences at this clinic. Wait times for appointments and walk-ins are relatively short (unless it's a full house). I like my physician. She's personable and very helpful. She genuinely shows respect and care for me - key factors for establishing patient-doctor trust. I wish the reception staff were more friendly/welcoming, but overall I would recommend getting care here."
