Holiday Inn Memphis-Univ of Memphis, an IHG Hotel

"Strange experience at this hotel. It seems really old and outdated. I stayed here for an academic conference. They gave me a really nice room which was nice, but it generally does not seem like a great value."

"For starters I was trying to find my missing car keys and everyone else in the hotel BUT the general manager William was trying to assist me and he was not very helpful. I waited at the desk for a long time while he clearly knew that my keys were not yet found but he went back to his office and ignored me until I requested to speak to him. If it wasn’t for campus police or the other hotel staff trying to help I would’ve gave up and likely would not have found them until I kept looking. Hope that management can do a better job in the future."

"Very dated hotel that feels like a school project at best, and a rundown motel at worst. Floors in the room were sticky, faucet had slimy grime on it, and sofas were stained with black marks. Oh, and smoke detector/co2 monitor was gone from the room. Vents were dirty with clumps of dust. Poor quality food offered for self service breakfast that you are then charged $16 for and not informed it’s not included in the room fee. Host is standoffish. Probably the worst Holiday Inn I have ever stayed at. Would not recommend."

"Family enjoyed our 2 night stay at this hotel. Front staff was friendly and had us checked in after about 5 minutes. The hotel lobby is clean and very inviting. We stayed in a King bed suite that was clean and spacious with plenty of room and seating for the 3 of us to kick back and relax if we weren't out and about. Bed was comfortable and pull out couch was in good shape. Front desk didn't have an extra blanket for the fold out couch. We Figured maybe some past guest ruined it for the future guest but there were enough linens on the main bed to make due. If you like to travel with a blanket you'll be ok. Hotel located in a quiet part of town with less traffic. Will definetely stay again if rooms are available."

"The condition of the room is poor. Beds are visibly bowed, carpet and furnishings show significant wear. The hotel is very understaffed. Some staff are amazing and are trying to do the work of 6 people. Others can’t be bothered to do anything. For example, there was vomit in the lobby and the front desk was made aware of the issue. They didn’t send anyone to clean it. The parking lot had multiple cars broken into during our stay, so be aware the lot is not monitored."
