Hampton Inn & Suites Memphis at Beale Street

"The employees are nice, the continental breakfast was good, and the locations was great. However, given the price of the hotel, I would have not expected to experience certain things. When we got to our room, the shower curtain was missing so when we left out for dinner that evening, we reported it to the front desk. When we returned that evening, the front desk handed me a shower curtain. In other words, we ended up having to install the curtain on our own. Not a huge deal but i was shocked. There was also a blue zip tie on the floor which made me nervous that the floors were not vacuumed or cleaned. We checked in Wednesday and left on Saturday. By Friday afternoon, we noticed ants. We placed the trashcan outside but ants were still coming from the baseboard. I called the front desk, the gentleman wasn't extremely friendly but he listened after I had to cut him off. You can tell he had no urgency for the issue but for me it was urgent. He was basically told us to put trashcan out and cleaning people would be by as some point to empty trash but I also wanted room sprayed. Someone came within 10 minutes to empty trash outside but no one knocked on the door to check with us. So after waiting another 5 minutes, I called front desk again and someone came to spray the area, he killed a few ants he noticed that had strayed, and he sprayed the trashcan outside. He was a nice man. Since it was our last night, I didn't request a room change. As a result, we ended up killing a few ants that got in the bed by that night. Lastly, we were given the option for a high or low room and choose a high floor for a nice view. We would have choosen a low floor if we realized one elevator was broken and only one worked. The one working made lots of noise and rocked when entering or exiting, felt very unsafe. Also, we used the fitness rooms and pool. They were are really clean. Pool went from 3 ft to 5.5 ft."

"My family & I have a family member in st Jude’s hospital. We choose to stay at this hotel because it (was nice) & we are going through a hard time. With the pool as well, we thought the kiddos could play in. Although the pool was too cold to even get in, we didn’t say a word & just went on about our day! When we woke up the next morning, there was a bug in the bed. I put the bug in a cup & took it to the office. They did offer a refund & also to wash our clothes but I am truly not pleased with how our stay went."

"If you’re looking for a hotel that is safe, clean and a great location this is the place to stay. This is a great hotel. The free breakfast is also a nice touch. Note, it can be a little loud if you have a room facing Beale Street but they give you free earplugs to block the noise (not that you really need them)."

"I have been to Memphis many times now and stayed in some fantastic places and thought I should review them. We had a gorgeous suite with a huge balcony overlooking Handy Park. The atmosphere was just amazing. This place was one of the best we have ever stayed in. We would sit on our balcony getting our make up on listening to the live music on Beale. It was heaven. The breakfast buffet was great. The staff so lovely and the place is spotless. Really do recommend it."

"My son and I just got back and we had the best time!! Our room was amazing with a balcony view of the city. We felt comfortable, safe, and right at home. Mr Jon at the front desk was amazing but so was every other staff member. Always greeted good morning and told good night. Super friendly. Will definitely be back!!"
