City Smog Check & Test Station

"Went for a smog check at this place because the other place where I usually get my smog done was closed early in the morning. He failed my car when it passes at other places no problem. He said he noticed the throttle body on my car was supposedly missing a cap and that it had been adjusted or tampered with. He was whispering with another supposed to be mechanic who was sitting in his truck next to his smog shop and saying it’s been tampered with. I’ve never touched the throttle body. Went to dealership right after to get advice and they told me it’s supposed to be like that. Be careful with this guy. Seemed to me like he wants to find anything possible to make a vehicle fail so he can get more money after for a retest. It’s hard to argue about this and regret coming here."

"Charging $70 for a smog is ridiculous and straight up highway robbery. I recommend you get it smogged somewhere else. The quality isn’t going to go down because you paid $30 less. $70 for 15 minutes of work is diabolical."

"recently just moved to the fremont area and had to get a smog for my car, but they failed me for a visual inspection. i checked my i/m readiness beforehand so i know i’m not failing for that. took my car somewhere else to get smogged and it passed the same day. a shady experience. edit: my car is normal and their reply is meaningless. i’ve had this car smogged many times before as is with no issues"

"Failed me for no reason, wasted my time and took way to long, I was late to work because of him, he was also very disrespectful, I have done smog before, it usually takes 15-30 minutes, this guy took an 1 hour and half, I had work at 12, I went to him at 10:30, and he wasted my time, FAILED ME, EVEN THOUGH MY CAR PASSED everything besides "VISUAL". Think about it, if my car wasn't going to pass VISUAL, WHY WOULD HE EVEN PROCEED TO TEST MY CAR, I know why because he is money hungry, he was quick to fail me and take my money, so many other better smog places, this is the first and last time I go to this palce"
