"BUYER BEWARE!! Called Short Sheet Fabrics on Friday January 13, 2023 and spoke with Jean. I explained that we had bought material in their store on Saturday December 10, 2022 for the purpose of covering the cushions on our glider rocker and the accompanying ottoman. I had kept my receipt until earlier in the week when I was cleaning up around the house and now can’t find it. When we picked up the cushions and ottoman from the sewing workroom they gave us back 8 feet of fabric! I explained to Jean that the problem is that when we came into Short Sheet Fabrics our sewing workroom had told us to get 3 yards of fabric, but, Jean explained to us at the time that that isn’t enough fabric to cover both items that surely the workroom had meant 3 yards each for a total of 6 yards. I explained to her that that is what she told me…3 yards but I’m not an expert so we differed to their good judgement as our sewing workroom wasn’t open on Saturdays. Now we have all this fabric remaining that we don’t need. Jean said that they don’t take returns without a receipt but to come down to the store and she will see what she could do. I asked if she would be there on Saturday and she said that she would. The purpose of the call was to let them know that they caused an error in the amount of fabric that we bought. I had no intention to seek a refund but only to complain. It is true that we failed to keep this receipt for 35 plus days but we had proof of purchase via our bank account. Based on this conversation we drove 45 minutes (one-way) to Short Sheet Fabric with all of the leftover fabric and a print out of our bank statement detailing the charge from December. When Jean waited on us, I explained to her that I had spoken with her yesterday about all of the leftover fabric and that she had told me to come on down without the receipt and she would see what she could do. Her reply was that she would never had said that and she would only be able to process a return with a receipt. End of conversation. There is no way we would have driven 45 minutes unless the store had indicated that the situation would be resolved. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT because they unnecessarily changed our order and cost us UNDUE expense when they had no direct knowledge of our specific job. We were hiring this work out and had no expertise to refute what this store clerk said to us. Bad business practice! Kelly Dixon"

"They have a great selection and reasonable prices. We found a beautiful fabric. That being said, they did not have enough for my project and had to order more which was fine; however they charged me for the shipping which did not seem right. If I had ordered a specialty fabric that they didn't typically carry in their showroom then I would have completely understood having to pay the shipping. I felt like I paid to restock their shelf. Just FYI!"
