"I am a hobbyist who makes cutting boards and various furniture projects for the house. I had owned a branded 3 blade planer for almost 10 years. I had the typical snipe and tear out associated with working woods like maple, sapele, and beech and trying to do end grain pattern cutting boards. I continually debated changing the 3 blade planer head to a shelix type or getting a branded spiral planer but was wary of the cost of both options. After adding a spiral head jointer to my shop I was convinced to upgrade the planer. I researched the typical big brand units and went back and forth on the decision. Three things ultimately led to me selecting the Wahuda. First was the availability of the unit. Second was the lower cost. And finally was the fact that Wahuda inserts allow you to cut with all four sides of the insert unlike several big name more expensive planers that only use 2 sides of the insert. I ordered in September 2020 and was the delivery list for October 2020. I experienced the initial issues associated with the damage caused during shipping, but Mike in support helped me get set up and working until I can get a replacement side panel. This planer's cutter insert is not the same as a typical spiral head. These are set up staggered across 6 rows around the head in a straight line instead of canted and wrapping around the head like a more typical spiral head. I only have about 40 board feet run so far but the difference between this planer and a 3 blade planer is huge. If I can expect the same service from the rest of Team Wahuda as I received from Mike in support I will remain very pleased indeed with this purchase."

"Looking to replace my aged old delta planer and saw this promo for a Wahuda 50100-pc -WHD planer on a early bird special. (A spiral type cutter head.) Purchased it and waited 1 month for the planer to come in. When it came in I opened the box and pulled out the planer. Inside the box at the bottom of the box there was a few plastic pieces. I continued to inspect the machined and found both side of the planer damaged beyond repair, (these sides are all plastic)The top of the planer was so loose you could lift it up almost a 1/2 inch. Keep in mind the machine was totally packed in Styrofoam. In my opinion this machine was placed in the carton damaged from Taiwan. Luckily I got a refund on this machine after a bunch of e mails to the company. Those of you who read this review please take note that purchased this planer and do a through inspection before using it. This is a cheep constructed machine with a high price."
