"Don’t be ridiculous - make a reservation!!! I’m sure you won’t have a good dining experience waiting in a walk in line for hours just to sit uncomfortably at the bar. Is it almost impossible to get a reservation? Yes. But still take the time to look because it’s worth sitting down and enjoying your food during your reserved allotted slot time. Service - our server was really nice! He explained everything really well. We wanted to build our own pizza but we weren’t huge fans of our pizza in the end because we didn’t really care for his recommendations on topping with the sauce choice. He definitely checked in on us often. We sat on the right side of the restaurant and the tables are practically on top of each other. Jammed packed in. And since I sat on the non-booth side, my chair was constantly getting bumped into, and I was even scooted in close to the table. But overall enjoyed our dinner experience. Food - don’t question it, get the onion rings! The batter was flavorful and the onion cooked properly but that sauce… that sauce it comes with, makes it! They charge for extra sauce btw. I enjoyed the Caesar salad, my friends said it was just okay. The lamb sliders are delicious. Amazing flavors and ingredients combo and cooked so well. Rigatoni was good, nothing great. It was too spicy for me too so I couldn’t enjoy as much. Pizza wise, other than my comment above, I’d most likely try one of their own creation ones next time. The cookies and cardamom, yummmm! I wanted my own. I love cardamom flavor though so I thoroughly enjoyed this dessert. Parking - super tiny lot with tiny free parking spaces. Luckily pulled up as someone was leaving. My friends parked along the street. So there’s some side street parking and also meter street parking too."
"This place is unique , Italian mixed with Indian. I’ve owned multiple successful restaurants in India. The only person you can take a good review from is me. I wish I got into partnership with the owner . The food is excellent & innovate that keeps the palette fresh, the way they mix the flavors are very tasteful . The okra tots, the tandoori onions, Oreo ice cream , the tandoori pizza , rigatoni . The cocktails is not the best, but Coming from India 95 % of restaurants in LA are not authentic Indian, I was not expecting this to be good, I was impressed by the mixture of how they mix the flavors and still get it right, this is going to be highly successful over the years if this quality is maintained, it already is. To all reading this , you cannot relate to any other bad reviews that talk about ambience or taste, this is the most authentic way it can be with its own mix, I have lived all my life in India and this is just the vibe , the busy ambience is what makes a restaurant good even back at home go to any good local Indian restaurant it’s usually busy and loud cz it’s good food, the atmospheric places that care about the ambience 95% of those restaurants suck in quality and taste. This is so far the most innovative restaurant I have come across."
"Really good food, cool atmosphere. You definitely get a hint of Indian spices in everything you order and it works well. The all star is definitely the Malai Rigatoni and it’s not even close. You 100% have to order that anytime you go."
"The short of it: Pijja Palace is amazing but way too hyped currently, wait until the hype dies down so you can actually get a table. I was conflicted of how to write this review, since Pijja Palace is a really unique restaurant with a lot of interesting food and ideas, but a lot of the experience is worse than it should be because of the current hype surrounding the restaurant (Michelin Guide, Eater, etc). It's tough to get a reservation still and walk-in's should show up a half hour before opening to easily secure a spot. Basically no restaurant is worth that level of effort to enjoy a meal, unfortunately. That being said, none of that is the fault of the restaurant and doesn't impact my review but it is worth saying. I think this place will be a great spot once the next "it spot" comes around. As for the in restaurant experience, it was phenomenal, you can tell the staff care about the menu and owners were trying to create a nice neighborhood restaurant for people to actually spend time in (various sports playing on the ridiculous number of flat screens on the wall, an abundance of bar seating). There were affordable drinks and food options, as well as really unique cocktails and cocktails ingredients. All of the food is executed well and something you won't find on another restaurants menu, which is reason enough to come back. All in all Pijja Palace is a great spot that I'd love to go back to, but probably won't be able to for at least a year or so."
"This place was so good. Definitely worth the wait since you have to make reservations almost a month in advance. The pizza with green chutney was divine. I could eat it all day everyday. The pizza was crunchy the chutney added a bit of salt and spice. One of the best pizza bites I’ve ever had. Another stand out was the malai rigatoni so much flavor and balanced at that. We also had the yellow wings which are good maybe needed some salt but overall can’t go wrong with anything here this menu slaps"
