"Not worth the trouble of getting a parking permit two days in advance and driving up to it. Half of the trail was covered by tall grass, so be prepared for some bushwhacking."
"Awesome permit-only hike, sign up on the preserve website. Dog-friendly, but pack in pack out! Few parking spots once you pass the gate. Very few, like 2 compact spots and 2 ADA for parking. Gorgeous hike, from Coho Vista Loop --> Vista Point --> Cielo Trail back to the car. There are some incredible vantage points and moments when we could see the Pacific from our spot. Not much shade when you're walking in the grass/meadow trails but there are shaded Redwoods portions of the trail which are nice and cool. Hilly and worth the ~3.5 mi hike. Beware of little critters and check your pups for ticks afterwards!"
