"Cute little bookstore with a lot of heart. Got a cool novel from their discount section! My boyfriend and I got our fortunes read by the Great Zoltar machine out front and had some enlightening truths dropped on us by the mechanical revelator! Awesome historic building and cool bookshelves with good chairs set around the store. Seems like a great place to grab a book, hang out, and read."
"Classics and expansive book store. A good visit when in the area."
"This is a very nice bookstore. My husband and I went here and found lot of gaming books and manga. We were not expecting this historic bookstore to have gaming books so it was a treat to see them. The bookstore itself is bright and has a second floor that has even more books. I like the layout and the openness of the place. We spent some time browsing and chillaxing here. The floors also have rugs (fancy) which you usually don't see in regular book stores. It made the place extra cozy. If you're ever in Eureka, check this place out."
"Last weekend we went visited Eureka Books Historic bookstore for the first time, at least myself. My husband has visited before but did not get to enjoy the time as he was shopping for special occasion. This time, he invited me to go with him because he knows how much I love reading and finding great books. When we arrived, they were getting ready for the Art Alive, and also it was the new owner's first anniversary of purchasing the bookstore. First thing captured my attention, was the layout, and the lighting. It was very open, spacious, and bright. Many bookstores and libraries dim the lights, but this one was natural light and nice light distribution throughout the floors. Another cool thing I found, that they had special collections and historical books. I enjoyed walking through inhaling the smell of fresh book pages, browsing through the new and old books. My husband and I set down by the cook books area, we both love to cook. And we found lots of amazing international cook books. We even found some of our favorite chefs cook books. Then we traveled to the second floor where we just sat down and read through books we picked from different genres like fiction, poetry, true crime, and biography. The was live music when we visited because of the event happening in town, but in general my husband said its usually calmer and more relax atmosphere. We are absolutely going back to spend more time enjoying the books and to explore more around the bookstore."
"Love supporting different local book stores when traveling, this is a great option. Our kids both found something, they have a lot about local Humboldt history, and a nice selection of gifts and cards. I overheard new ownership from a long time employee, can’t wait to come back."
