"I normally like to stick to bathroom reviews, but there wasn't a bathroom here and I can't let this go. I went in because they had a walk up ordering without a server restaurant situation; unlike almost everywhere on 2nd street. I ordered a federale (carnitas) taco, chips & salsa and a drink. I'll start with the drink since that came first. How are you out of the cheapest part of running a restaurant, the drinks? Signs all over for "out of", then Mr. Pibb should have had the label, I settled for Coke, ok fine. I got my food...The carnitas was good, but when I got to the tomato sauce, I mean salsa, it made me realize that my taco did indeed have almost no cilantro and barely any onion. The big deal is, that cilantro and onion was specifically listed on the menu for just about all the tacos, then they are almost nonexistent? I grocery shop, cilantro and onion are very low cost. The "salsa" clearly was lacking it. I think I saw a few specs of green; then overwhhelming tomato sauce flavor, I just couldn't. I threw it out. I took a picture for everyone to show I'm not exaggerating. I had to come here to review because there is so much potential here and yet they failed for the cheapest reasons (drinks, cilantro, onion and I assume garlic). As I sat there alone, I liked the music, decor, the guy behind the counter and yet, hated my food. Such a bummer."
"Do not order a burrito in Tacos Restaurant! I ordered Tri-tip burrito. Meat was great, but rice and beans were bad. So, if you'll order Tacos you'll love it."
"During my visit, customer service is good; an employee goes back and forth from the front desk to the chef so many times to find me answers about Vegan options. There aren't many Vegan options, and the burrito I order (Flaco Lunch Burrito) with customization requests ends up arriving with cheese (which ends up being the most distasteful flavor in the meal) in it. Otherwise, I enjoy the burrito; the burrito is juicy with flavors of vegetables bursting through with every bite, and the burrito stays together well. The replacement ingredient, extra beans, taste good (the Spanish Rice is not a Vegan option). I like the flavors of the burrito more so without any salsa (even the spicier and spicy-sweet salsas): the burrito alone is good. The interior is chill though I do recall sitting elsewhere to be underneath a television (against the television wall side with a variety of shows on) because the eatery is on a corner so a lot of different smells from outside of the eatery seem to hit near the open areas of the eatery near the sidewalks (like the cigarette smell(s) I recall while waiting for my meal—not pleasant, to me)."
"Tacos were pretty tasty and filled with a decent amount of meat. We had the Yard Bird (chicken) and O.G. (tri tip steak). The half order of chips and queso was a generous size and also very tasty. My only complaint would be that we ordered fountain sodas - and the only soda available was Diet Coke. The staff did allow us to sub a canned soda."
"I have been coming to this joint for breakfast burrito since the opening of this joint. The decor and attitude is great. I had the surf and turf burrito and my husband has the carnitas burrito. Mine was absolutely delicious, the shrimp was well cooked and juicy. The steak was just as well done. I would give this joint a 5 star review except for one thing. Their salsas are a disaster. I really truly hate all of their offerings in salsa at this joint. They are a sugary mess, and I don’t know what to say, but maybe some other folks like them, but my husband and I certainly don’t care for it."
