"I love shopping here, Maya has so many options and she is also very kind, friendly and helpful."
"Maya was able to order a pair custom white vinyl boots that I had been wanting to find for a reasonable price for a long time. They turned out exactly like I had requested them and I was thrilled. She was lovely to work with and is super welcoming to drag queens. Great variety of shoes and a very personal shopping experience. Will definitely be back again for a pair in the future."
"I tried to ignore the Google and Yelp reviews about this place and see for myself. Now I wish I would've just steered clear of this place. The first impression of the store when I walked in wasn't even good. Store was dirty, shoes on display dusty. The woman who helped me must be the same woman everyone is complaining about. She is very pushy and was standing over me, making me feel rushed to make a decision. I've never been so uncomfortable trying shoes on before. She made me feel as if she was doing me a favor by bringing shoes out for me to try on. I decided on a pair and noticed there are no price tags on the merchandise. I asked her how much for the shoes and she quoted me a price higher than if I ordered online through Pleaser. I told her that and she asked me what the price is online. I told her and she said she would give me at the same online price. I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but at this point I lost trust in her. I realize in her homeland it is customary to negotiate prices in stores. It isn't customary here and leaves one feeling as if they are being cheated. At least if I purchase through the Pleaser website I am able to earn points to spend on my next purchase, as well as exchange my shoes if needed. I truly doubt at Maya's she would do an exchange. Just stay away from this store is my advice."
"If there was negative stars I'd give her every negative star possible. Once again, out of desperation (I needed shoes for that day for work) I had to go into Maya's. Surprisingly, her rude and obnoxious pushy behavior was a bit improved, but possibly only because she recognized me. First, she tried to tell me the matte boots (pleather) were genuine leather, and that was the cause for their overpriced $160. Knowing she was talking BS, I asked for the shiny ones. Boots that I later learned are only $90, she charged $145. She let me try on a new pair, then went to the back, so I'm not sure if she then grabbed refurbished shoes or what, but, less than a month later, here I am; a cracked heel, the fabric peeling, the tiny rubber bit of the opposite heel started coming out every time I lifted my foot and had to superglue it. PLEASE don't shop here, especially if you are a new dancer. Hustler's has better prices and quality and will help you. MAYA OFFERS NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES for her GARBAGE product. You can find new shoes online for their actual prices. PLEASE PLEASE STAY AWAY from this terrible woman. She has no right to be in this business, everybody works hard busting their backs for their money and she exhibits no concern for the livelihood or safety of the people she sells to."
"Hippy dippy jewelry and ornamental designs, masks from Bali in the Republic of Congo and other weird, mysterious places, and the most dope nose rings/piercings and bracelets/necklaces a girl could ever ask for! I love this place, don’t ask me why, but it’s just the right blend of weird and exotic with comfy and welcoming. Kind of like a tourism display for foreign cultures but you get to try and buy their jewelry! I got a stainless nose piercing and it was half off, great staff and prices too!"
