"Like a movie scene, the Kraken Bar and Grill pops up out of nowhere on a dark and desolate coastal patch of 101 on Saturday night. The smallish lot is jam packed and cars are shoulder parked on the frontage. You hear rock-n-roll thumping inside the ramshackle building. I knew right away this was the place for some drinking and dancing. If you are over 21 and want to hear live rock music, forget about the Gaslamp and head to The Kraken. Projekt-X was hitting it hard till closing time and the floor was packed with people grooving until the staff shooed us out. Friendly bar staff, decent prices, so glad we stopped in. Wife was happy, what more can I say…"

"We were looking to find a rockin place with live Rock n Roll. We found the Kracken on the web, it was just 6 min. Away from our condo. Just off of Hwy 101. This little hole in the wall was popping!! I was already dancing when I walked in the door!!the band project x was in the middle of one of my favorite cover songs Sweet Home Alabama! The floor was packed with middle aged women and men dancing the night away having a good time!! We got a very good drink in about 3 min. I really liked the place and will be returning before heading back to N CA."
