"Had a great tonight at this bar. Mario took good care of me with happy hour drinks. The people were so welcoming and fun. I will definitely be back!"
"This is and has been my local watering hole for years. Totally love the owner Jeff. He has alway's has been super inviting and charming to me since meeting him years ago. In the last few months though i have noticed something here and at the other local bars regarding food street vendors. I am all for anyone making a living doing honest work which they all are but why at Mineshaft are they literally setting up shop right in front of the entrance? And i do mean right in front of the only entrance to the bar! What if the customers are not hungry? What if the customer wants a little more low key of an entrance? Anyway i don't know why this is being allowed? I realize that no one owns the sidewalk (including the vendors who think they do) but this just seems wrong to me. In all years before everywhere i have never seen this practice nor do i feel it's right. For me part of the appeal of the MS was discretion on entering and leaving. Now with blinding lights and literally a kitchen and some people eating not so much. All i can say is i hope this practice soon stops. Entrances to establishments should not be blocked. And let me state i have no problem with the street vendors other then this and that if any licenses or rules are required that they adhere to them just like any business has to."
"This place has been on the decline for a while. It’s a local popular watering hole, but it’s just there for the money. It always smells like sewage water.. The bartenders are sometimes uninviting and don’t make it feel like you’re in a safe queer space. Security is very lax and practically nonexistent.. if you want a heavy pour in a cruise-y space, this is the spot. It’s not always safe and staff don’t respond well to concerns from patrons. Probably comes from the top-down."
"There's a lot to say about this restaurant. It's huge, they have an extensive menu, a bar, and an arcade. They do offer daily specials on their menu. They have hands down the best mozzarella sticks I've ever had in my entire life!!! They also carry Sprecher's root beer which is a big thing up there and it's delicious. They have redone the bathroom since I was there last and that makes things better. I think the restaurant itself is very loud. The wooden booths, or table and chairs aren't very comfy. The waitstaff is average. I'm not sure the food is worth what you pay. If you're going with a group everybody can find something to eat on the menu whether it's steak, Pizza, salads or the fish fry. I always feel like I'm eating in a cave. Next time - cheese sticks to go!"
"It's got a cheers feel where ((Everybody knows your name)) They dont! but around 12:30 the boys are Hot and ready, I've been patronizing since 95"
