"Didn’t enjoy it. We ordered through the omakase who asked very basic questions like do you like rice, sauce and spice, and level of knowledge of fish. He ran up a $300 bill ordering specials for two, explaining a bit about fatty tuna. The girl bringing food was too quiet to be heard. Zero decorations on the food. The atmosphere is bad, like a hole in the wall type bar. Fish was great, but not worth the price."

Amazing sushi with dishes innovative and so delicious, you want more of everything you try. And to top it off - about half the costs of nearby omakase on Montana and other on Wilshire That one is a keeper"

"Kanpai is an excellent little Japanese restaurant found on Wilshire and 22nd in Santa Monica. I have been to the original location many times and decided to try this location closer to my home. It did not disappoint. The sushi and the salmon teriyaki was delicious. The quality of the food is elevated with a great presentation so this is a must for foodies. My compliments and respect to the chef. You can find menu items here that are original and only found at this restaurant. We tried this new cucumber dish. Mind blowing. The service is personable and quick. The atmosphere is casual and feels cozy and works with the delicious cuisine. I wish I had taken photos of the food."

"We ordered the Japanese style fried chicken, fried gyoza, pk3 hand roll, and the miso ramen with the spice on the side. Everything was delicious! What a great find. The restaurant was not busy at all on a Sunday night. Service was quick. It is definitely a must try!"

"The place is small but they have good service. The rolls are a little bit pricy but it’s good. I love the ramen, broth is good and they serve really big bowls."
