"First time trying this location BUT it felt very familiar since the interior was similar to the Oakland location. The nigiri combo also started at $25 for 7 pieces with the options to pick more expensive fish. Scallops and toro are available for no additional cost here as well. Honestly, a great addition to the area. Highly recommend their kurodai, aka black snapper, because they sear it very well."
"HANDS DOWN some of the most affordable and good quality nigiri you can get in the Bay Area! An unassuming little shop (I recommend getting a reservation!). Tables are limited, so frankly - don't come with more than 4+ people... You MUST order the Nigiri Combo when you come in. The fish quality is top notch, especially for the price. You have the option to do "Chef's Choice" or you can choose which proteins you want. I found this so unique and fun. I chose all of my favorites: Hotate, Iwana, Toro, and Kanpachi. I was pleasantly surprised by the Kurodai (Black Snapper) too! Torched and savory. Must order!! The Ocean Trout ws just okay. The Sake & Shiso Hosomaki was SO ADDICTING. I could eat a dozen of those and never get tired of it. The wasabi in everything was perfectly scattered as well. One downside for me what the wait time for food. After we ordered, we waited about 45 minutes for our sushi to come out. I respect it though, it takes a while to perfect nigiri. Just keep in mind that it will take a while, especially if you're coming in hungry. Staff were really kind here and checked up often!"
"Finding a nice sushi place in Hayward has been a challenge, and this place rivals those nice sushi restaurants in SF. It started put as a takeout only place but has since opened up a small dining room with about 4-5 tables and a sushi bar that seats 6-7 people. This place is lnow for their high quality nigri combo, which comes with 7 non-repeated pieces of your choice from a rotating menu of fresh fish, some of which I believe comes directly from Japan, as well as a chef choice maki roll. Some of the choices include Toro (fatty bluefin tuna) and Kanpachi (Amberjack) Hotate (Hokkaido scallop) and Kurodai (black snapper), but they have different fish every week. Needless to say, everything was fresh and delicious, and at $25 per set, you really can't find a better deal! The sashimi combo is also very good. They do have some exclusive dine-in options as well. During our recent outing, we tried the chanwamushi, which is a steamed egg custard dish, and it was delicious. Overall, I highly recommend this place if you want high-quality sushi without the crazy rolls. Note for all the parents of little kids, this place does not have high chairs."
"First time here, and was not disappointed at all! We had a group of 3 girls walk in right when they open on Saturday and was seated immediately. It wasn't terribly busy at all for the lunch hour. As for parking, I found street parking and saw there's a sign for public parking around the area. This restaurant is intimate with the limited tables, and there's also seats at the sushi bar. The staff were all very friendly, attentive, and quick. As for the food, I got the nigiri combo and after returning from Japan last month, this fulfilled my sushi cravings and you can just taste the high quality of the fish and rice. I'm usually not a fan of wasabi paste but I did ask if they use fresh wasabi for their sushi, which they do. I can only handle fresh wasabi and it wasn't overbearing at all. This is a little gem in Hayward and I would make my way up from the South Bay just to go back again!"
"The food was exactly like the one in the Oakland location, staff were very nice! Though you can't dine in, since the last time I went. The inside looks unfinished and looks empty, I think they're going to continue build it up, otherwise it's still very good! Just hope they'll have seating inside soon!"
