Welcome to the Goodwill Retail Store and Donation Center located at 4220 Balboa Avenue in San Diego, California. Our institution is not just a store, but a place where you can make a difference in the community. Our mission is to provide employment and training opportunities to people with disabilities and other barriers to employment.
We offer a variety of items for sale including books, clothing, furniture, and home goods. All of our programs and services are provided at no cost to San Diego County residents. Our friendly staff is here to help you find what you need, whether you prefer to shop in person or online, in English or Spanish.
If you are looking for job search assistance, our Career Advisors are available to meet with you one-on-one, in person or online. We offer workshops on soft skills such as job applications, resume building, interview tips, workplace communication, and financial literacy. Earn our Job Readiness Program Certificate by completing all workshops and meeting with a Career Advisor regularly.

Donating to Goodwill is easy with over 50 Donation Centers in San Diego County. We accept quality items such as clothing, books, and home goods. Please call ahead if you plan to donate furniture, as we have limited space. Your donations help fund our programs and services, making a difference in the lives of those we serve.

"The prices are worse than Ross, TJ Max, etc. This particular location has the highest prices Ive seen at a thrift store. Doesn't appear they are giving jobs to the needy because it's all just regular people working. Is it a charity or a scam? Do better goodwill"
"It's a pretty good size, i like that in a goodwill. It had a decent amout of items. Just breezing the items, it seemed like the higher end stuff gets sent to the online store. The staff seemed nice. Parking was easy. Just didn't really see anything to buy, which is weird when in a large goodwill. I try it again, maybe it was an off day."
"I used to love going to this store but recently noticed majority of their prices are marked up more then 50% from compared back months ago, from clothing, housewares, furniture to even toys. I’d rather buy Ross or Marshalls if your store is marking prices like these. Good riddance! The prices now are like almost retail prices considering this is a thrift second hand store. This store is marking up prices like the thrift store next door them!"
"My thinking of goodwill is that it’s a store that is affordable to go to when you don’t want to buy the actual retail price or maybe can’t afford to. It’s a second hand store. But these prices are just ridiculously too high. They should be selling the stuff for less so that 1. people can afford it (b/c) it’s used 2. So it doesn’t accumulate clutter in the store!"
"Sign clearly states drop off is open until 6pm, when in fact they stop taking donations at 5 pm. Might want to update that, before everybody will just donate their things to the thrift store next doors…"
