"Stellar delivery on flavors Malaysian from a strip mall kitchen in Pleasanton. Check out the regularly updated menu, ensuring there’s a new taste to try always. Penang Hokkien Prawn Mee came as two types of noodles in a satisfyingly fragrant coconut broth — tasting of the essence of shrimp and topped with shredded chicken. Penang Mamak Fried Chicken, both dry and wet spiced before deep frying for a crispy, spicy skin. The saltiness could have been higher, however."
"Ordered a few dishes here including Mee Goreng, Char Koay Teow, Nasi Lemak, and Roti Canoi. The Roti was fresh and fluffy - best one I've had in the Bay Area. The same goes for Nasi Lemak served with crispy fried chicken. The other two stir fry noodle dishes were spicy and relatively flavorful. If you're ever in Pleasanton looking to try Malaysian cuisine, you should include this dining establishment on your list."
"We love CLB!!! We come here almost at least a couple times a month, driving the 40+ mins each way to satisfy our char kuey teow (CKT) cravings! Chef Jai and Vicky have brought a piece of home with their very authentic and Penang-focused Malaysian dishes especially the must-haves CKT, roti canai, nasi lemak, mee goreng etc. The CKT is the very best, arguably better than most back in Penang too! Jai really brings the “wok hei” (pan heat) to it! But aside from the amazing dishes, the atmosphere at CLB is so homey. We meet old friends and make new ones every time we go! A real small town “kopitiam” (coffee shop) feel to it. Everything is halal and parking is easy in the big mall lot. Love it!"
"Authentic Malaysian food in a casual setting. We tried the chicken rice, char kway teow, chendol, and iced teh tarik - and everything tasted great! - chicken rice - chicken was tender and flavorful. Both ginger sauce and chili were authentic. - char kway teow - good wok hey and right amount of chili heat. - Ice teh tarik - was sweet but not too sweet and tasted like tea. Will definitely visit again to try more items on the menu!"
"The Food I always thought there was only one type of laksa, but recently I got introduced to Penang asam laksa. There are very few places that have this dish, and Curry Leaves Bistro is one of them. It is quite interesting because the restaurant doesn't quite have a set menu. They have a normal menu that's fixed, but they also have a "Today's Menu" which is different from time to time (check Facebook for update). I've only been a few times. The first time I got their Nasi Kandar with Mamak Fried Chicken, and the second time I got the Asam Laksa. I also got different small dishes such as... - Karipap (Curry Puff) - Pulut Nangka (Jackfruit and Sticky Rice) - Nyonya Kuih Combo (Dessert) The Nasi Kandar was flavorful, and the Asam Laksa was quite unique compared to other laksa I've tried. The Karipap, Pulut Nangka, and Nyonya Kuih were also interesting. I want to come back another time to try their other dishes as well. The Miscellaneous The restaurant resides in a typical plaza. At first glance, you might not know they specialize in "Penang" Malaysian dishes. The interior is also kept simple, but with a decent amount of seating. They do not have a fixed menu, but they do have a variety from rice to noodle, to bread, to special dishes. They also have a variety of drinks that I didn't get a chance to try much. They usually announce their special on their Facebook page, so keep an eye out. Would recommend this place if you are looking for some unique Penang Malaysian food."
