"Went here for a special occasion celebration, and all I can say is at least the decor is nice. This place is a cement slab so they needed to have the walls covered up. Aquarium is smaller in person and only shortly by the entrance above. Entrance door leading downstairs is broken. The main issue now is THREE TIMES I had notified my server Brian of a salmon allergy and 3 times he had brought salmon out to me which had to be substituted. He had acted like he had forgotten each time. The food was alright, honestly could just be projecting because the poor service onto the food. But it was a pretty big issue. Then to top it all off he had dropped off the wrong check to our table and when notified he said I was wrong first before even checking. When going to the restroom after leaving he was just by register laughing and talking(probably not about what had happened), butI’d have thought he would be a little more cautious about the entire incident. At a minimum he also gave someone else the incorrect bill and I’m sure those weren’t the only mistakes he made."
"Got a very warm welcome from Jeremy and felt so much love and warmth. It almost felt like this was a party being thrown at a family home than a restaurant visit so to say. Stopped for pics along with the way right after the steps with the aquarium in the background. We clicked for a bit and the moved down to the checkin desk. Got checked in with Lisa who was so cheerful and welcoming even though we were a couple minutes late ( took longer clicking pics) and she walked us to our table upstairs. Christopher ( we were served by a few hosts during our trip in LA, none like Christopher though. BIG shoutout to him and his service!!!) was our host for the evening and made sure we had a wonderful evening and dinner. He helped explain the menu items and answered all our questions in a very friendly manner. Always made sure to checkin with us in a timely fashion and made sure that he kept our ginger refills ( we are big sushi ginger eaters :)) full. His recommendations were phenomenal and we definitely enjoyed them. We ordered a few of their Maki Signature Sushi rolls namely Oshi Zushi, The Oyabun, Nottonight and added another one from their cold section, The Yellowtail Carpacio ( Serrano). Each roll screamed fresh, amazing taste and left us craving for more. Absolutely loved every bite of our Sushi rolls tot he fullest extent. We ended the dinner with the Yuzu cheesecake and it's absolutely the one to die for. Finger-licking good and had the right balance of sweetness and the candied kumquats absolutely added the much needed citric balance to the sweet offering. Presentation was fantastic and could have ordered a few more of these without a doubt!! Absolute recommendation and you definitely got to visit them even if you don't happen to be in LA!!!"
"Went here for my anniversary with my partner, and every server mare sure to wish us a happy anniversary! It was such a nice little touch. There was also live music which provided such a stellar atmosphere. As far as the food, what CAN’T I say! The sushi and drinks were absolutely incredible. I ate here once with a friend before I decided to bring my partner, and I had a unique and delicious experience every single time. Also, the mural leading downstairs to the restaurant is easily one of my favorite things (second only to the huge aquariums). All in all, the food rocks, the atmosphere is classy and fun, and the service is out of this world."
"I’ve come to this location about four or five times now and every time I come have an amazing time. Are usually stay for just cocktails and appetizers but every time I have, it’s been amazing. That edamame and the skewers are to die and all the cocktails I had have been great. The doorman is so kind and has such great hospitality, and the room itself is very artistic and beautiful. It’s definitely worth coming and hanging out with friends and having a good time. I’ve also come on Tuesdays when they have live music and had a great time. I recommend a reservation which was super easy through Open Table for me."
