"Authentic modern style Shanghai food. Definitely recommend their big dumpling with crab."
"This is my worst experience at the restaurant so far. First, the food is terrible. It is totally different from what we have before, I don't know what happened to them but it's taste bad. The lettuce should be cooked before serving, it is the traditional way to cook that, but they don't, they just put some sauce in the raw lettuce. For the fried rice cake, the flavor is plain, not cooked well, the color is bad as well. At the same time, the size of food is decreased sharply. I ordered an fried rice as well, before, the rice could served for 2-3 people, now it's not enough for one person, so I don't even have the mood taking picture of it. Secondly, the service is terrible, I don't like it. The servants never smile."
"Decent tasting food, good portions, and at a reasonable price. The service is a pretty standard post COVID process especially for a Chinese restaurant. You scan a QR code at the table to order and a waiter brings it to you once it’s ready. Other than that, the staff doesn’t really bother you unless you call them over. I’d say it’s a good place for comfort food in the mall especially compared to some of the higher rated restaurants in the mall that have ridiculous lines."
"Shanghai Delight, located inside the mall alongside several other Asian restaurants, appears to be part of Valleyfair's effort to create a hub for diverse Asian cuisines and desserts, a wise move given the Bay Area's sizable population. Yesterday, I visited with my young niece, originally planning to have ramen noodles. However, we noticed a shorter line at Shanghai Delight compared to the ramen and udon noodle spots. Since my niece loves dumplings, we decided to give it a try. We waited in line for approximately 15 minutes, but larger groups had to endure longer waits due to the restaurant's small size. Given that there were only two of us, we ordered a limited selection of dishes to accommodate my picky eater niece. Our choices included pork belly, shrimp and pork dumplings, and crispy dumplings, all of which were quite tasty. Moreover, the prices were reasonable, in stark contrast to the upscale Din Tai Fung. Both restaurants seem to have limited interaction with their customers and service is spotty since they were super busy when we went on a Saturday afternoon. While they may not be the absolute best dumplings around (San Francisco offers some superior options), Shanghai Delight is a convenient choice close to home. I look forward to returning with a larger group to explore more of their menu."
"Seems like they recently changed the name from Goldhill Bistro to I-Shanghai Delight. We went there for dinner and we were the only two parties eating in the restaurant (that tells you something about this restaurant). The crab roe pork dumplings are mid. Meatball is back, not tender at all. Would not recommend"
