"Since this location was closing, a friend and I decided to eat here last night. Because they were understaffed, all that was available were appetizers and fajitas, which was fine with me. Chips and salsa were the best part of the meal. Fajitas tasted just okay despite being served on their signature hot plate. Service was decent as well, despite them being very understaffed. As the closing date gets closer, expect this place to be active, so be sure to get a reservation."
"Waited 2 hours for any kind of food and did not receive any compensation for the wasted time. one of the guys I was with didn’t receive his food for 20 minutes after it had already taken 2 hours for stuff to get to our table. My wife is pregnant right now and she needed me back desperately while I was out and I was being held up by a wait staff with no regard to time management or human consideration. I will say the food was pretty substantial but would never again wait 2 hours for it. Other than the food, avoid this place if you eat for the experience."
"The wait for our table at Chevys was a bit longer than expected, around 35 to 45 minutes. However, once we were seated, we had an amazing waiter who was very attentive and friendly. He ensured that our orders were correct and the food itself was delicious and filling, as always. Chevys consistently delivers on great-tasting food, and it's a place I always miss when we don't go there. While the overall atmosphere was nice, there were a couple of minor drawbacks. Firstly, the utensils seemed a bit dirty, which was a bit off-putting. Additionally, the cushioned seating was a bit odd and uncomfortable as it made you sink in. But these were minor inconveniences that didn't overshadow the experience. One of the highlights of dining at Chevys is getting a window seat that overlooks the bay. It's always a treat to enjoy a meal while taking in the beautiful view. Overall, the food was pretty good, the atmosphere was nice, and it was a good dining experience at Chevys."
"We came to Chevys on a busy Sunday afternoon, hoping to catch the end of brunch. However, upon ordering, we quickly found out the restaurant had such a busy weekend that they were sold out of a few brunch menu options for the day. Though this could have been an issue, our server, Daniel, was so kind and helpful in suggesting and accommodating us with alternative options. He went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our lunch and kept checking in on us regularly throughout our time at the restaurant. The most notable part of the service was when Daniel surprised my son with a plate of delicious churro pancakes- he mentioned the cooks were able to squeeze out one last batch of pancakes and brought them straight to my son! Apart from that our food was delicious!! Everything we ordered from appetizers, entrees, happy hour dishes, and drinks tasted great! Even the complimentary homemade tortilla chips & salsa tasted AMAZING. Our favorite menu items were the Mexican pizza with chorizo, salmon tacos & the pomegranate margaritas!! There is also a good variety on the kids' menu. Although we didn't get the meal and experience we were expecting, the service and attention to detail we received during our meal totally made our visit worthwhile. We can't wait to come back soon!"
"My recent visit to Chevys was, as usual, a wild ride. This restaurant chain holds a special place in my heart, as it does for so many others. The ambiance was fun and festive, and the service was excellent. Our waiter was very attentive and brought multiple refills of chips and salsa. The food was average (C for Chevy's) and, of course, very filling. The main downside was the parking lot - it was a complete mess, with tiny spaces that were difficult to get in and out of. Finally, it was disappointing that the table across from us received a huge birthday celebration from the waitstaff, but our birthday girl was overlooked and had a much more muted celebration from the team. Will we be back? You bet ya and can't wait! UPDATE 09/2023 (1 year later): As promised, we found ourselves back at Chevys, this time one year later. The roller coaster of fun seemingly never stopped and we hopped right back on. It has been said, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." And so I abashedly admit we attempted to park in the main lot only to be once again chewed up and spat out by the vortex of chaos that dwells outside the Fresh Mex front steps. Tip: Go directly to the back left parking lot and save yourself. In regards to food, no change. Server was A+ quality and overburdened by apparent staffing shortages, so service was quite slow. All the more time to enjoy the bay views and festive atmosphere! Chevys must have heard we were coming because this time our birthday girl got QUITE the celebration and they even brought back the free Chevys hat! Finally, we appreciated Chevys playing college women's soccer on the TVs - hat tipped to Chevy. See you next year!"
