Sushi Kakogan Rocklin

"Busy for a Friday night, but it was delicious! The best sushi in Rocklin. Very friendly. In fact they were giving away sake shots towards the end of night cause they didn't want the bottle to waste. Then we looked at our bill, they forgot to charge me my two beers. Food was yummy!"

"Prior to today, I would have given this place 5 stars all day long. This has always been our go to sushi place at least 2-4 times a month due to the excellent food and friendly service. Today, the moment we sat down at our table for lunch, the owner approached us and introduced himself, and advised that his staff claims that we as customers have a high rate of turning back food due to dislike, and basically that it was unacceptable. In 3 years and 40+ visits, we sent back a roll that we always order because the fish tasted off and old. The only other time a roll was sent back, it was something the server recommended and we did not like it at all. In both situations, it was the staffs insistance that they bring us something else and remove the old item from our bill. Where has customer service gone to these day that heeds a warning from the owner the moment we sit down? Not a good experience today. We left without eating and will no longer be a customer of this locally owned business, which has always been a big deal to us. Very disappointing."

"Had liked this place until recently. Food quality diminished a bit and they charged me an extra dollar because I asked for 2 (yes 2) pork matsu instead of one pork and one something else in my bento box. How does that change anything? The waiter was inexperienced and overworked, and there were few people in the place. My wife agreed with me as we left this place for the last time. There are plenty of Japanese grills in the area."

"We stopped here for lunch, we got greeted and got seats right away, staff came by right after and offered us drinks and appetizers, everything on the menu sounded delicious and the pricing was good, we ended up ordering 2 misso soups to get started, which were delicious and very flavourful. For the rolls we ended up with the Rainbow 2 Roll, and Omakase which is a chef's choice roll. Both roll turned out to be very delicious, flavourful and filling. We really recommend the Omakase roll, it was be based on your preferences and what you might like. We definitely recommend this place, it was our first time here but we will for sure be returning and bringing our friends with us."

"Very yummy, beautifully prepared and presented food, and wonderful, friendly and attentive staff! Would recommend and eat here again! From top to bottom, we have Daniel's Roll, Gilroy Garlic Roll, and then 2 chef specials/creations. All 4 were delicious!!"
