"Not bad for a basic breakfast spot the chicken fried steak was decent but the eggs Benedict came on a garlic English muffin and it was amazing... the breakfast potatoes were bland and way over portioned... but not to crazy om the price.. so all in all I say a 3 out of 5... I'd go back if it was convenient..."
"My daughter grandson and I stopped in here for breakfast before beginning the long journey home to The Inland Empire. Austin our service was exceptional, very attentive and personable. He did not even need to write our order down...he remembered everything. The food was fantastic and the New Orleans jazz playing in the background was the icing on the cake."
"Wife ordered breakfast from here today. We got crab Benedict, chicken and waffles, beignet, and a couple coffees. I cannot speak for the atmosphere or service as this was an online order that was delivered by Uber Eats (bad company) even though the order is placed through the store’s site. Crab Benedict is a large crab cake on a barely toasted or untoasted (soggy) English muffin. It was fine. The potato side was steamed potatoes that had a trace of either previous burnt bits or a failed attempt to make them into hash browns/country potatoes. The primary flavor of the potatoes can be described as lightly salted, which is better than over salted but fails to capture the seasonings of southern style cooking. The chicken and waffles resembled KFC extra crispy chicken and the driest waffle. It also came without syrup which is unusual. We did get butter and what appeared to be two types of ranch and what should have been remoulade but tasted like October’s mayonnaise. I guess they think people want chicken dips for chicken and waffles instead of syrup. The beignets were more like dinner rolls than the delicious French fried dough rolled in powdered sugar than many places around Sacramento can do competently. They are dry, flavorless, and improperly made. They did come with sauces, but I’ve never put raspberry sauce on a dinner roll and I’m not starting today. They are large as that’s a 9 1/2” hand being overshadowed by one, but that doesn’t make them good. Finally the coffees: a mocha and caramel(?). The have the appearance of mud puddles and the flavor of watered down gas station coffee with a little coffee mate added. Despite my critique of their other items, this was the low point of the meal. I couldn’t even call these proper coffee, and they definitely are not espresso style drinks as a mocha is. Brewing Folgers at home is likely to give you better coffee than whatever this was made from. There appear to be several of these restaurants around Sacramento, and they are a blight on an otherwise decent food scene for our fair city. If you can afford another $4 per person, go to a real southern style restaurant for the same items. If you cannot, any diner style restaurant (including Dennys) is a better breakfast choice. And if you cannot afford more but desire southern style food, buy a basic waffle maker and cook some chicken tenders from the grocers freezer for a better experience than this flavorless drek."
"Lynette was very delightful. Provided excellent service and offered good options. We ended getting the chicken and waffles and the county fried steak on biscuits. Very flavorful and hardy. Coffee and water stayed as full as our bellies! Tapped out! Good food and service!"
"My wife and I had a wonderful breakfast experience at Huckleberry's restaurant yesterday. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome by a lovely lady who seated us at our table and gave us menus to peruse. I ordered the New Orleans skillet, which was a flavor explosion in my mouth. The combination of shrimp, eggs, sausages, and potatoes was deliciously satisfying. The peach tea was also a perfect complement to my dish. My wife had the crab cake Benedict, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She paired it with a cup of coffee, which she said was rich and flavorful. Overall, the food was exceptional, and the portions were generous, making it worth the price. We were also impressed with the friendly and attentive service we received from the staff. We definitely plan to return to Huckleberry's restaurant and bring our kids with us next time. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying breakfast experience."
