"After moving to LA for 10 years I became half Mexican living off of tortillas and frijoles. And with time my expectations go higher and higher and now I can tell what's good Mexican food and what is so so. El Gordo met with my expectations with the Huegos Ranchero I was looking forward to. Eggs are on point with half cooked yolks. The rice and beans taste fresh and I like that rice is not heavily seasoned. I wish it was at a more inviting plaza strip but hey what do you expect in Boyle Heights? I'm giving them 5 stars."
