"I stopped by Clairemont auto care while visiting San Diego from Vegas. My car overheated randomly and continued to do so, I came here for a diagnostic (which was significantly cheaper than another shop right down the street) & they let me know my radiator needed to be replaced due to a crack, leaking coolant, along with my thermostat needing replacement. One of the mechanics let me know we could do JUST the radiator but there was no guarantee that it wouldn’t overheat again - I don’t know much about cars and they may very well have charged for work I didn’t truly need or overcharged but given my circumstance I really don’t care to know if that’s the case & I couldn’t afford to take a risk, they did more for me than anyone else & bottom line they repaired my car quickly. AL offered to discount the diagnostic ($145) from the total price and an extra $50 on top, I left my car there 2/14/24 around 3PM & it was ready by 2/15/24 12PM, not to mention they inspected my car on 2/14 without appointment or notice & it took about an hour. My car is now running up to par and feels better, no longer overheating. I commend the mechanics as the experience could have been very unpleasant but they were quick, clear, and gave me a $192 discount, they did not go above and beyond to convince me it had to be done or try to manipulate me with fear, and did not charge me anything on 2/14, I didn’t not pay a cent until after the work was finished - they also gave me 1 year warranty or up to 12,000 miles. Bottom line: the work performed, from the diagnostic to the radiator and thermostat replacement was done as presented, the price was set directly and clearly, and my car was ready to drive in less than 24 hrs. "Called them on sat 23rd.. they said come on in. I drove my car there and they were too busy to even talk to me. So a friend told me to make an appointment during the week so I made an appointment Thursday the 28th of December. I Showed up and still difficult to get there attention I had to call them to tell them I was there. I told them I want a belt and tires balanced tgey insisted upon $145.00 to take care of it and said they woukd look over the car. Then an hour goes by and they have not gotten to my car yet I call several times, no report. The following day I call at 930 they still had not gotten to my car said they woukd call me in a half hour. An hour later I call and still they said they were just getting to her. That they would call me back. At 11 I call again and they said tgey were taking my car apart to give me an estimate, meanwhile NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE that I asked. I told them I needed to pick up my car so they said fine. Tgey DEMANDED I pay the $145.00. I already knew what the car needed and instead they gave me a $4770.00 estimate. On top if this there is a scrape on my back bumper area. The guy insisted he had to drive it. He also told me "we can't please everyone". I wanted to say you didn't even try. Did NOT DO WHAT I asked them to do when I brought it in. And at that point I dont even trust them to touch my car again. Do not go here!!!"
