"Fantastic to have a completely GF restaurant nearby. Starters, mains, and polentas are delicious. Focaccia is soft and fluffy, but the breads could use a little warming or toasting. GF breads are best when warmed or toasted. Desserts were meh - they've discontinued a lemon ricotta cake that was very good. We had espresso panna cotta - it was good but not great. We also had cannolli - it was not much, and not very flavorful. It's a small place, which can be nice and can create intimacy, but this night there was a table with two babies - ok I can understand that noise - but their adults were watching the 9ers playoff game on phones and actually screamed when big plays happened - rude and unforgivable. We've been here other times and it has been quite nice. The servers are friendly and attentive. The drinks are generous and well made, and as I noted earlier the GF food is delicious. We love the meatballs, the arancini, the short rib, chicken Parm and other dishes, and it's a revelation for my celiac family members. Be warned - it's not inexpensive to eat here - it's definitely a special occasion place. Attention to a few details would help to justify the high price tag for more frequent visits."
"Tucked away underneath Charley’s is a gem of a restaurant called Polenteria. With the feel of a European bar and 50’s era dining room, Polenteria has a menu featuring twists on classic items such as Short Rib and Eggplant Parmesan and a unique variety of polenta. The bread and butter appetizer is delicious. The focaccia is reminiscent of pound cake in its moistness and density. The Chicken Marsala was just right, not overcooked and loaded with mushrooms and string beans on a bed of mashed potatoes. The Watermelon and Crispy Pork Belly salad was different from any salad I’ve ever had. There was a soft bacon-like quality to the pork belly cubes and the watermelon had been seared and seasoned. The Limoncello Martini was a bit vodka-forward but good. Overall, a special experience for those who are interested in fusion Italian dishes."
"I have celiac disease, I asked three separate times what the bread was made of and no one would tell me. "Just trust me it's gluten free" is an unacceptable answer to someone who has a serious medically necessary diet. Other than the snarky attitude the food was delicious."
"Visited on Valentine’s Day weekend. This place is located in a back alley and is a very cozy setting. I think max seating is 20. The server was good. We ordered a drink, Arancini, Bruschetta and polenta and extra bread basket. Food was great. Best was polenta and Arancini. Bread was very good as well. Unfortunately they did have many dessert option left. Overall a very good experience and good food."
"Hands down best gluten free restaurant I been to. Short rib was cooked down to perfection with a slightly hot Calabrian chili sauce perfect golden leeks. We also had the scallops can you say modern freaking cooking? Pearls and foam… yes please. Will be back"
