Special Noodle Soup

"Came here on for a Saturday dinner and got the chicken combo and salt & pepper cartilage. Both were absolutely fantastic! It reminded me of my mom’s food, down to the peanuts and scallion ginger sauce that comes with the chicken. The chicken itself was delicious and not too over powering with spices, which really emphasized the taste of the actual chicken. Broth for the noodles is light and not too salty. The cartilage was flavorful, which was a good contrast to all the lightly spiced dishes. Everything was super authentic - it really felt like I was back at my family’s place for a home-cooked meal."

"The food is good, but the dining environment could be improved. I went during the winter for lunch and it was cold. There was no heating and the door was open. I sat by the door and it was very cold. I recommend the restaurant improve the heating in the winter."

"4.5/5 but we round up. Damn good Hainan chicken rice and extremely fast service. I was in and out of there within 25 minutes. The plate was put together so thoughtfully. Great use of pickled ginger, cucumbers and wood ear mushroom to balance out the heavier chicken and rice. The chicken was also made wonderfully. It tasted great and the meat was soft. The rice was a bit different from what I was expecting but the chicken flavour did shine through. All in all, I didn't expect to be able to find good Hainan chicken rice in the south bay, so I was pretty blown away. This is the flavour of nostalgia and your childhood. The dish itself is not super mind blowing, but it's tasty, cheap and quick."

"It was a nice restaurant open at 2pm while the others nearby are closed. We wanted to try various appetizers. We chose chicken knuckles, sal/pepper calamari tentacles, pan fried fish cakes, Hainan chicken, mala beef tendons and seasoned choy sum. The flavors were nice and unexpected. It was cooked just right. I wish we had more tea served. Just make sure you check your order in case they miss something. We might try their noodle next time."
