In January of 2017, Sam replaced the alternator on my '95 Ranger with 215,000 miles on it. Last week on the way to Sacramento, the new alternator failed. A typical warranty is 90 days, and I was already double past that. When I called Sam, he remembered me (I was a first-time customer in January), and he said that he would "take care of it." When I explained that the truck was in Sacramento, and he was in San Mateo, he agreed that without a working alternator, even a freshly-charged battery would not likely get me back to the shop. He suggested that I "upgrade" my AAA membership to "Premier" that allows one 200 mile tow every year. At Sam's suggestion, I now have the peace of mind of additional service from AAA, *plus* a brand-new alternator installed at no charge with a sincere apology for the inconvenience. In short, the dude knows his stuff, and he stands behind his work--even though premature failure of an electro-mechanical part is clearly beyond his control. And Sam is a nice guy, too!"
