"My boyfriend and I went to Lulu Carpenter’s for the first time and had a terrible experience. The drinks came out fast but my boyfriend’s drink was cold and we asked for it to be reheated. We also ordered some food. After waiting for 45 minutes we went back to check on our food and they hadn’t even started making it! We waited another 30-45 minutes and got our food. When we got it, my order was wrong, so I had to wait even longer for it be remade. Even after all this waiting, the food was not good. The eggs weren’t even seasoned. We were both starving at this point but barely touched our food."

"Beautiful location. Very friendly service. The mocha we got was okay, but the flavor was not as chocolatey as expected. The regular coffee was not very hot. Maybe because it was close to closing time. It turned cold after we added milk. Good selection of milks to add. Will probably not return."

"Lulu Carpenter's is a lovely spot to grab breakfast or brunch. They have so many options both sweet and savory to choose from. If you haven't tried the bacon wrapped egg yet you really should. They serve all the classic cafe coffee and tea options, and from my experience they are made very well. The staff are mostly very friendly but not always. The inside dining is still closed but they have some tables and chairs out front for customers. I highly recommend stopping in next time you're in downtown Santa Cruz."

"Went there based on the great reviews and ordered a cappuccino. Maybe I just lucked out but the person making it super heated the milk thus burning the coffee. The location and ambience are definitely nice. Didn't try any food so rating it for the sub par coffee. Will update if I go again."
