"I walk down the tree lined stairs from top of the Russian Hill to this cafe ; love the melancholy trumpet of the busker; a scholarly and aloof woman reads a book about Africa ; And I am reading Nietzsche ; the store managers Mehmet, Lisa, Cristina and owner Shaadi are friendly. My friend Roger joins me ; the photos show the Union buttons he wears; coffee is smooth. Conversations with Roger are great as are his artifacts shown in photos."
"My favorite lox bagel in the city. The place is quaint and cute. The bagel sandwiches and espresso-based drinks are very good and the oj is fresh, everything is really nicely curated and of high quality. My only critique is that the egg in the breakfast bagel and avocado bagel is boiled eggs. It feels wrong to eat a bagel with boiled eggs rather than scrambled eggs. Because of that, I will stick to the lox or prosciutto bagels. Usually the service is totes fine although it has been oddly standoffish a few times (hence 4/5 for the service overall)."
"How do you create a good tasting new breakfast bagel or lox bagel without changing the formula or recipes? I don’t know but this place has the best tasting Lox and breakfast bagel on the North Beach district strip. Nice tiny cafe with no element of liberal created SF crack addicts or homeless, but a clean quaint corner all to its self so you can enjoy the food and the hip atmosphere. What true San Francisco should be like, but with an appetizing flair of an Italian cafe. The pastry’s and menu items are not over complicated and yet have a good wholesome taste. You will pay a slightly higher price but it is worth it. See the photos for yourself."
