"Porter Street BBQ is a classic locally. Whenever you are within a few blocks, and especially passing by the restaurant, you get hit with the incredible aroma of the BBQ. Something about that smell always makes my mouth water. Porter Street also gives back to the community through sponsorship of several athletics programs and other programs and groups. They've been operating locally for several decades, and they also have a restaurant down in Cotati (Santa Rosa). Whichever meat you choose, you're going to be happy. Tri-Tip, Pork, Chicken, Ribs, it's all fantastic! You must try their BBQ Sauce. It comes chilled or warm they also have a toppings bar with lots of the most popular items people like to put in their sandwiches. I highly recommend stopping when passing through Eureka. If you're traveling and not hungry at the time, you pass through. They can package it up for you and you can take it with you and enjoy it later."

"Best BBQ beef ribs in the world. It’s hard to find beef ribs, and even harder to find BBQ beef ribs (most places bake their ribs). Porter Street does them perfectly at a reasonable price. They are moist and well-seasoned and have some of that char-grilled goodness. They come to you promptly at a perfect temperature. I’ve never been to another place that matches them."

"My husband I had been wanting to try this place and finally got to last weekend. Ordered the large pastrami sandwich which was tender and salty just how I like it. The bread is thin so you really just enjoy the meat. They have a condiment section which has things you can put on sandwich if you want. Also we got the sampler which comes with a beef and a pork rib, tri-tip, a piece of chicken, garlic bread and 2 sides for $24.99 what a deal! The chicken was so juicy inside with some crisp outside and had that nice smokey grill flavor. Tri-tip was moist and flavorful. I preferred the pork ribs over the beef but liked both. The sides are good. They had clam chowder as the soup of the day and we both enjoyed the flavor. Perfect texture and not all potato like some spots. Staff was friendly and I think since we told them it was our first time and was about to order way too much they gave us an extra beef rib and a drumstick : )"

"The Tri tip and Chicken was excellently flavorful. The BBQ sauce was good and the Cole slaw... the chili left somewhat to be desired. The garlic bread was very good also. When we entered there were no customers just is. We were told take out only and complied so we ate off the tailgate of our truck in the parking lot. When we re entered for some foil there were a couple tables where folks were eating inside. That was a bummer. Oh well... once only trip here."
