"The food is quite good, everyone is friendly, and the building itself is fantastic. I give the food 4/5 because the price per serving on a lot of items isn't 5-stars worth. Other items like the Milkshake, while expensive, it worth what you get. Service I give a 4/5 across the few times I've been in only due to timeliness. They've always been polite and haven't ever messed anything up, but some of the ~5 times I've been they were quite slow even with few other customers. I'd love to have 1950s time on my hands, but this is 2024 and I need a bit quicker pace. All that said, I'd give a 5 star if they were still open in the evening. I live outside of town & go into Nashville for concerts, games, etc and loved swinging by here for a bite before or after an event. With them closing so early now, I'm not really sure when I'd be able to come back."

"Best Flaky Biscuit you’ll ever put in your mouth! Ellington Soda Shop is like stepping back in time, it’s a cute 50’s style diner that has the best comfort food. The breakfast and the lunch is phenomenal, you can’t go wrong with any of the food. The flaky biscuits are a must try, they literally melt in your mouth, it’s like having a slice of heaven, Lord Jesus, they’re that delicious. As a matter of fact, they’re addictive! The sweet tea, the cheese grits, the breakfast potatoes, burgers, the pancakes, the onion rings, the milkshakes, you can’t go wrong. If you haven’t checked out this quaint diner, then what are you waiting for, run there now and your taste buds can thank me later."

"I was born less than a block from here so understand me when I say I know Nashville, this lil nook better than all the rest. I have only seen this place get better and better over the years they have been consistently fantastic and now with the restoration IT'S SO DAMN INSTAGRAMABLE my feed Begs for more! The turkey and dressing are my absolute favorite! Breakfast all day"

"Fabulous 50’s style diner. Tons of history. Our waitress was excellent and gave us a history lesson on the place. Many of the staff are there years and years. All the local specialties on offer at excellent value. So good we went the next day for breakfast. Full lunch and dinner menu available."

"We had a reservation for breakfast for a party of 6 on Friday, 10/13/23, at 10:00 am. There were plenty of open tables, but a reservation would probably be a good call on a weekend! I wish I remembered our waitress’s name. She was wonderful! I got the Three Egg Omelet ($11.99). It was very good with a very generous amount of vegetables! The biscuit and potatoes were great! I got the Cherry Famous Soda ($4.99). Would not recommend. It didn’t have much flavor. Others got the Fried Chicken & Biscuits ($12.99) and Two Pancakes & Two Eggs ($13.99) and they enjoyed them. Good service and good food!"
