Hattie B's Hot Chicken - Nashville - Lower Broadway

"I had their leg quarter, fried pickles bacon & grits, waffles & a root beer float. The leg quarter was seasoned perfectly, not too spicy at mild and it was an overall great fried chicken. The ford pickles was pretty good, especially with the sauce. Now the waffles were a little more ok the crispier side. I was expecting more of a waffle that was soft and fluffy, theirs was more freshly baked and like a waffle for ice cream(softer, more pliable and thicker). It was still good but was hard to match with the fried chicken for a California style “chicken and waffle” meal. The root beer float was delicious, great scoop of ice cream and when matched with the soda, it was phenomenal. I’d definitely come back to this spot to try their other menu items. It’s within like a mall so there other food spots nearby also."

"Hot chicken...a Nashville must have. Hattie Bs on Broadway is a great spot to get your fill while being on the main strip. There is better hot chicken in the city...but location and atmosphere is cool. I got the damn hot chicken and it lived up to its name...going in and out. Sides are good. Tables inside and out. Food didn't take too long and wait wasn't bad when I was there...but it was a Tuesday lunch in off-season. Would go back again."

"I'm a very picky person when it comes to Nashville Hot Chicken.. though it was raining they were very busy and had to stand in the rain it was well worth it.. Food was great! The Shut the Cluck Up was spicy! I loved it. Pimento Mac and Cheese Spot on. Coleslaw was the right amount of sweet and the Waffles completed the puzzle. Clean table, a few different people checked on us. If you like Hot Chicken this is the spot."

"Really wanted to try Hattie B’s while on a work trip so I made the 10 min walk from my hotel over to location off Broadway. Had some fear that I was going to have to wait in line but ended up getting there around 3 pm and only had to wait 5 minutes or so to order. Once I ordered I did have another 5-10 minute wait to get my food. I sat by the windows overlooking Broadway, a lady gave a guy in his undies with a guitar a protein shake and I found that entertaining enough for my wait. I had ordered the fried chicken sandwich with medium sauce and fries. When the food came the chicken and fries were fresh and hot. The fries are good and have a slightly spicy flavor. I got the comeback sauce to dip my fries in and that was good, almost tastes like it has a tiny bit of horseradish in it, and a tiny bit of heat. The sandwich was good but the chicken was tough. I had to bite hard to get through it. I’m guess I’ve got used to Canes and Dave’s Hot Chicken because both have chicken that is way more tender. It had just a bit of heat, sort of wished I went hotter. Overall I was glad I tried it."
