"The Old Fashioned is the first drink you learn to make as a bartender. It's not difficult but each component is important, all the way to the garnish. Squeeze the orange peel to release the oils and then rim the glass. The aroma is part of the drink. With that said... The first bartender was friendly and made a good old fashioned. The second bartender was ascerbic. She didn't acknowledge my presence and focused only on my friend, asking him if he wanted another beer while his was half full, meanwhile my drink was completely empty and she ignored me. (He noticed it and said something to me about it so it's not my imagination.) She cut up all of the oranges including the one Bartender A was using for the peel. What makes the drink great is the orange peel and without it, you have sweet whiskey on ice. I asked Bartender A make me another and it was just like the first one. The guy two seats down looked sad because she was making him an "old fashioned" or should I say a sweet whiskey. The brisket nachos were good as well as the sausage and cheese plate."
"Had the smoke wing appetizer with blue chips and Queso and it was great, the wings were cooked perfectly and had a great flavor, the queso was really good too. I liked the atmosphere, it was warm and cozy with football playing on the TV and the service was really good. I highly recommend stopping by here."
"I’m obsessed with the brisket nachos for starters it’s only like $6 during happy hour. I spend a lot of time in the concourse studying so an inexpensive snack/meal is right up my alley. I recommend getting it to go because you get more that way and it comes in a cute box that you can take anywhere and not make a mess."
"I'm not usually one to write a review, much less a bad one, but I find myself VERY disappointed in my experience with Wolf River Brisket Co. I was underwhelmed the first two times I came (one sit down, one take out) but decided to give them ONE more try (third time is the charm right?) Wrong. I will never be back. 1) THE WAIT: I pre-ordered my food online at 12pm and the aprox. wait time they gave me was 15 minutes. I arrived around 12:30 (thinking 15 minutes was a generous buffer) and didn't receive my food until 12:40. 2) THE FOOD: When I finally did receive my food it was luke-warm at best, had extremely small portions (all pics included are how I received my food, apart from the "stack"), and it was FLAVORLESS. I ate my teensy "brisket stack" (pictured w/ only 1 bite missing) and a couple bites each of my $12 mac n cheese and side of southern green beans before taking a deep sigh and resigning myself to the fact that I will have to take this food home to be re-seasoned and heated up in order for it to be made into something relatively edible. 3.) THE PRICE: I think everybody has felt the horrible feeling of "I spent $30... on this?!". That was me today. While the "lunch special" price of $10.80 is tempting, the portion you get for it can't even be considered a snack (see pics). The extra $2 surcharge for to-go containers is also laughable for non-reusable styro-foam and aluminum foil. By the time tip and tax were added I'm paying double I would've for a quick lunch at Global, Mad Grocer, or Abners (also in the building). The only two redeeming qualities of this place are that the staff are nice and the aesthetic of the restaurant is cool. However, even those attributes are a far cry from being the saving grace for this place. Unfortunately."
"I love what they have done with this facility. We had an issue with one of our dishes and the manager gave us a complementary dish- redid the meal. We didn’t even ask for that. They also gave us 1/2 off the meal!!! I was so appreciative!!!! I get that stuff happens, but if you make it right, I’ll be your customer for life. We also came in at the end of the night… so there was that. This place usually always has a really good meal. Their bread pudding is phenomenal!!! A must try!!!!"
