Reviews of American Eagle
"Long live the Eagle!! This is an absolute GEM of a ride -- the 8th fastest, 9th tallest, and 10th longest wooden roller coaster in the world -- and it's been going strong at the back of Six Flags since 1981. It's a twin tracked coaster, and sometimes they'll race the red (forward) and blue (backwards) sides together! Waits are usually pretty minimal, it's got excellent airtime, and that 720° helix is a beautiful thing! Make sure to set aside some time for Eagle when you visit Great America..... it's definitely the 2nd or 3rd best coaster in the park!"
"So much fun...first time in 20 years. American Eagle roller coaster remains the same. My son was scared on the first drop but then he liked it"
"The ride opened at 1230 when I went, and it was 12:22! We got right in line, and there was only 5-10 people ahead of us! We got right on, and I could see the whole park at the top. The drop is perfect, and the helix is so fun!"
"This famous wooden coaster has a unique charm despite it being rough in certain areas. The most disappointing part of the ride is that it no longer races with the other side of the track. It doesn’t look like the other side has been used in years. The long straight sections provide some nice air time moments before being slammed back down into the seat. The turns are a little rough but the trains are going so slow during those sections that you don’t really feel it. The sheer size of this coaster is very impressive. I would not wait to ride this because it could only be around for a few more years."
"Great roller coaster and arguably one of the icons at this Six Flags. Rides rough and bumpy due to its age but it's still a blast. Highly recommend you ride on the last cart. When you go down the first hill, you'll get a small second of freefall which is pretty cool."
