"The ladies working there are the nicer people ever."
"Since moving here, we frequently are using Mundelein and Gurnee park district activities due to the lack of activities for kids. Swimming twice a week? Mundelein has it. Soccer beyond four available classes? Gurnee. Halloween and Christmas activities for kids? Mostly free for Mundelein AND Gurnee. Archery? You get the picture. I just now see a new "activity" posted for residents only for Grayslake: pay $30 so GPD employees drop off chocolate eggs on your porch. Why? Oh, and no exercise facilities or indoor pool. For the taxes people pay in this town, it's unsettling how little is given back to the community. Families beware: beyond lackluster park district. Update 09/2022: We actually tried signing our 7 year old daughter up for softball after she had asked us nonstop if she could try it. The date was getting close to the start week of 08/29 so I placed a call to the park district four days prior, the woman transferred me to some guy who told me they literally "cancelled it just now, like within the hour" due to a low number of signups. We had to scramble at that point to find another local team, and while scrambling we found another mom on the Grayslake Community Facebook group who also was disappointed and trying to find another team, she stated she had inquired with the park district about having the younger girls join the next group, which appears she never got a response to. Thankfully through Grayslake resident suggestions, Lake Villa was still accepting kids albeit she already would have missed two practices. Thanks again, Grayslake Park District!"
"This place has gotten away with doing the bare minimum for long enough. Went to the Balloon Launch last night and it was essentially a large open field with the token TWO carnival games ( gross, pedestrian) this was a huge opportunity for the park district to do something really special. The summer camps are boring and uninspired and with what the park district charges for these camps there should be new and exciting things happening all the time. Unfortunately the decision makers at the park district office are far more concerned with just "moving residents along" than investing any real time or interest."
"Grayslake does a great job keeping their parks beautiful. There are always people out enjoying them, but I never find them overcrowded."
"What a great facility! Had my daughter's birthday party here and loved every minute! Staff takes care of everything set up and clean up! Worth every penny!! 2 ladies that helped today were excellent!"
