"Please, DO NOT bring your dog here. I brought my dog in on 2/18/22 20. I have a 12-year-old female Shetland sheepdog or a sheltie (long haired dog, basically she looks like a little Lassie). I asked the groomer Donna to bathe, trim her hair and cut her nails. Donna asked me if I wanted a “summer cut” (mind you it is February) I said no that sounds too short, just a trim. I dropped my poor little girl off looking like a healthy little sheltie but when I picked her up, she looked like a dog who had suffered from mange, the women shaved my dog! I could not believe my eyes; I did not even recognize my own dog. She was completely shaved except for her head and tail. She looked horrible! Not only that, this woman chopped off some of her face and neck hair, it was so uneven. Donna said, “you asked for a haircut and that is what I gave her.” I said, but I told you not to cut it too short I did not want a “summer cut.” She proceeded to tell me that it is not the summer cut. I said it cannot get any shorter, it is down to the skin! She then said, “Well, the summer cut is shorter.” This women does not live in reality , she argued with me that she just gave her a haircut. The pictures below show what my dog looked like a couple of weeks before I took her to this “butcher shop” and again right after taking her to this terrible place. I had to run out to the store to buy my dog a sweater because her hair was shaved to the skin, and she was freezing. Again, picture Lassie with no hair! I was so upset. I told her I wanted to speak to the owner. The owner Doris called me a few days later. Doris was no better, she told me that it was my fault for asking for a cut when I should have asked for just a bath and blow out.” What?? I said “So, if I ask my beautician for a haircut, she can shave my head? She said, “don’t be ridiculous, it's a dog, it will grow out in three weeks.” This comment just shows her lack of care and concern for the dogs and their owners. Doris acknowledged she did not see the haircut but said she knew they did a good job. Really! There was no apology or any attempt to accept responsibility for this appalling attempt at dog grooming, it is an obscenity. I showed the pictures to a groomer i know, who lives in Colorado, she was astonished and concerned at what she saw. She said that my dog's hair may never come back correctly because Shelite’s are never meant to be shaved. No kidding! I can guarantee it will take a lot longer than 3 weeks to grow back. It will be eight months to a year before my dog's hair grows back to the length it should be, if ever. I will continue to post updates with pictures as to how long it takes for my dog's hair to grow back. Please look at these pictures so you do not bring your dog to this dreadful place."
