"Beautiful visa point but the Santa Elena canyon trail is prettier"
"Nice quick stop for great 360 views of the canyon and river! Plenty of parking and even seating areas if you are looking for a place to eat with a view."
"One of the most beautiful places in Big Bend NP. The trail is a must-do. It can get supee busy at times though. Tips: Try the trail in a starry night. It is a small piece of heaen."
"A nice easy hike that was beautiful. The canyon walls are impressive. It is very crowded, though, so just be ready for a lot of people on the trail."
"We started with Santa Elena overlook. This gives you your first view of the Mexican border and what lays beyond. The views are amazing. The cliffs on the other side are really imposing and stretch as far as the eye can see. The view down to the Rio Grande here is really dramatic. We were there in August and the monsoon rains had swelled the river to an impressive size, it was at full flow. We did one short hike here down to Santa Elena Canyon, but we had to start at the overlook as the road was closed to cars after here. The views down the river were amazing. I would certainly recommend starting here in the park."
