"We called 2 days in a row and a weekend ago to get pool hours because you cant trust the website to show when the pool is closed to public for swim lessons or whatever. Everytime we called they said open until 4PM. Close. Then open at 8PM. No restrictions mentioned. So we drove from Cedar Rapids to Iowa City. Guess what happened? The were closed for swim lessons. Nothing posted. They people at the desk need to be giving out the information accurately when the public calls. Maybe reevaluate you training for receptionist desk."
"Meets all expectations! All training facilities available...Follow me for more interesting places and events review, and be notified among the first to be notified about every post"
"One smiths machine for a school of over 20k on campus students!? Ten dollars each day for a guest pass, when you're lucky to get on half the machines you want without waiting an absurd amount of time! Don't get me wrong, it's a nice gym. The track and sauna+steam room is great. But they really need to add at least one more smiths machine. The planet fitness in Iowa city has four, and it's never anywhere near as crowded. I no longer feel its worth anywhere near $10 a day for guests."
"Nice facility on the outside but the fact that the university charges $2250 PER class and then wants to charge me $10 per day for access shows what a racket this university has become. Definitely doesn’t serve its community. Mercer park aquatic center is the best place to lap swim in the Iowa City metro area!"
"Vast and beautiful rec center that's open to the public. $10 for a day pass and it's well worth it. 3 basketball courts, tons of weight lifting equipment and and a recreation pool area + lap pools and giant rock walls. There is surely more but what I noticed while here! NOTE: Pools closed 1:30 to 4:30"
