AC Hotel by Marriott Chicago Downtown

"We stayed here on a whim, on a Saturday night, in the "middle" of Chicago. We paid under $200! The front desk (really wish I could remember her name) was phenomenal! Before booking, she recommended we book with a package in order to receive parking -in/out access & not pay the $60/night- and a couple cocktails from their upstairs lounge. She also asked us if we preferred a view or a bigger room, which was very hospitable. We had such a fun night as everything was walking distance and we got to experience the breathtaking skyscrapers in the 3rd largest city in the US."

"Jerry & the front desk staff are incredible. We were staying at a nearby Marriott property and were not aware the pool was being renovated! One of the top things our daughter wanted to do in Chicago was swim. Jerry allowed us to walk over and use the pool - it made my daughter and her cousins entire weekend. His staff with kind , facilities were clean and everyone was so accommodating!"

"We had great service. Couple of things we wished we'd have known, Windows with a view - you hear everything outside in the busy street, everything, loud cars drag racing, people, sirens, etc We were told the street is also on the way to a hospital so lots of sirens, all night long so keep that in mind. If you don't want a view, you probably won't have outside noise to deal with. We also had a room that was an adjoining room. The walls seemed to be made of paper as we heard everything from the guests in those rooms (two different groups each night). And in the middle of the night, and with sirens, we didn't get the best sleep. The front desk did handle our calls and contacted the guests which seemed to help for awhile. Overall great hotel and nice location with parking connected to the hotel, but keep in mind the nighttime gets very noisy."

"It's okay but not great. This hotel is definitely not the same quality as other hotels in the AC Hotels brand. Our room had a variety of issues and was overall pretty beaten up, despite being a modern design. The bathroom counter was chipped and the sink was cracked. The shower door frame was missing a metal cover plate. The balcony door did not seal well and let in a lot of noise from the street. The balcony was pretty dirty and unappealing overall, with no furniture or anything out there. On the plus side, the TV was a decent size and there were more than enough power outlets for all of our devices. Some of the staff are really nice and helpful, others not so much. We called down about an hour before we checked out because the toilet was clogged; the operator promised someone would be right up but no one ever came. We ended up just using the bathroom in the lobby."

"This hotel was a pleasant surprise. The rooms are huge, amenities were great (gym was solid and equipped with towels and free water), and the pool area was heated. Staff was pleasant too. I think weekend pricing may not be worth it, but overall it was a great location. I would stay here again."
