"CALLA WHITE ruined my experience and does not need to work in this field anymore. She boasts "25 years of experience", yet is unknowledgable and unprofessional. She makes careless mistakes and behaves without common sense. When she is handling people's finances, that is a very big deal. Shirley is no better. She tried to "help" and just gave me the run-around because she didn't know what she was doing either. They had to transfer my case to Heather at the Affton branch, who said I was the THIRD PERSON THIS WEEK whose taxes the Maplewood branch had completely fumbled and passed to her. My experience is similar to the other 1 star reviews. If this branch cannot opertate properly, it needs to be closed down or completely restaffed with competent employees."

"I went in office to apply for a refund advance. I normally do it myself using the online version, but I had to go in store to apply for the advance. The people I worked with in the office were very kind, but I am quite dissatisfied with the refund advance process. I understand that H and R Block does not make the decision, but you are affiliated with a company that does reflect poorly on your company. I needed the advance, but I was offered so little in comparison to my refund that after paying so much for my taxes, it was not worth it. Also, you are not notified of your advance amount until you leave the office. Along with that, I can't even transfer my funds from this stupid Green Emerald card to my bank account, and my entire refund is going on it. It has been difficult finding surcharge free ATMs because the link in the app does not work. I have already paid enough money, why should I have to pay to get my money? I do not want to use is as solely a prepaid card. I do not recommend using the refund advance if you can help it. It is not worth it."

"I had to file an Amended 2020 tax return because I hadn’t declared a bit of income properly. I was told how much to pay and sent everything in. I just recently got a massive bill from both the Federal and State governments because the tax expert submitted my amended return without filling in how much tax was withheld on my W-2s so the government believes nothing was withheld. This is a very elementary level mistake and shouldn’t be made. The tax expert was someone mentioned in a previous negative post named Calla White. I made another appointment to get this fixed and found she was the only one there and I refuse to let her touch my taxes again. I don’t know about the other branches but don’t go to this one."

"Fast honest and professional, with a personal touch. We've used H&R Block for 44 years now. We've had the same wonderful lady for many many years. June knows her job and she cares about us as people. She's brilliant and gives us great directions to improve our situation for the future. We actually look forward to our tax appointment every year with her! Why leave this important matter to chance? This, for us, is the way to go!"

"I got my taxes done here today. I truly can say that I feel like i got the most back from my return. Marie Stanfield was great at preparing my taxes and was patient in assisting.me She even double checked to make sure i had all possible discounts. The atmosphere was friendly and professional, which at these times are really hard to find. The staff all together are the best. They really went over and beyond at what they do. I am really happy to have meet such a great team. Thank you all very much for your help am making my day the best so far in 2018. This place deserves 5 stars for: Outstanding Customer Service, Over Achievement, & Professionalism."
