"I had an 8’x10’ shag rug cleaned a couple weeks ago. When I called to schedule the cleaning, I specifically mentioned the matted down areas on the rug that I was concerned about. I was told that those areas could be cleaned and should look better with less matting. I understood that those areas wouldn’t look new again but at least wanted the rug fibers to be a little more lifted so the rug would look at least halfway decent. I had this rug in the living room and was having it cleaned so I could move it to the bedroom so there would be less foot traffic. I unrolled the rug and I saw zero difference in the matted areas. All of them were just as matted down as before. I ended up just putting the rug in the dumpster, realizing that the matted areas are most likely unable to look any better, even with cleaning. I had spent $200 having the rug cleaned, so I called Kiwi and explained the situation, telling them I had emails that would prove that the rug was put in the dumpster by the maintenance guys at my apartment complex. I asked if there was anyway I could get even a partial refund, even 25%, just something to help me recoup some of the $200 I spent. I was told about the “policy” over and over, the “policy” is to let them see the rug and clean it again. The “policy”….,I have a small apartment and live by myself and I can’t keep a huge, extremely heavy rolled up rug in there, let alone move it around on my own. I knew I didn’t want to use it anymore. But there are absolutely no exceptions to the “policy” so I was told they could not give me even a partial refund. So Kiwi corporation has an extra $200, I’m out a rug and $200 of my hard earned money. I am extremely upset and think that even a partial refund would have been appropriate. I will never use them again."
