"My normal vet cancelled my international health certificate appt day of and Companion Animal Hospital was able to not only schedule me a same day appt due to urgency but also make sure everything was in order. Dr. Kaya Bryant was wonderful, knowledgable and great with my pup. We were impressed with their service and cleanliness. We also appreciated the entire staffs' willingness to help us and understand our needs. The vet techs and front desk staff were also knowledge with their services and friendly. Additionally, communication throughout the process was fantastic. We knew where we stood each step of the way, knew what was needed and they answered any questions. Last thing to note is they are accredited by AAHA. We will definitely be coming back."
"Brought my Golden Retriever into the office for his first visit at Companion River North and we were welcomed and they have soft music playing, excellent exam rooms, very clean and comforting. Dr. Bryant was amazing and made Beans so comfortable that he rolled over on his back for a belly rub. Results were back quickly! I highly recommend Companion River North."
"The veterinarian doctor that saw my dog was amazing, she went over the medications my dog needs in great detail, she gave me a list of shots and test to keep up with, for my dog and my dog liked her from the start. It was our first visit and we will be a family now. Clean facility and great friendly staff."
"When we first started going to Companion almost 2 years ago, we thought so highly of the practice. Unfortunately, the last 6 months of going to Companion we saw a steep decline in care. Our dog is very fearful. We used to be able to have tasks such as nail trims, blood draws, etc done in the exam room so we could be present to help comfort her. The last few visits this request was denied. The worst part, the last time I brought her there, two technicians who are not familiar with her dragged her across the hallway, pulling her back into the treatment room. It was horrifying. If they would have let me communicate that she would typically walk back to the door if I walked back with her but instead as soon as she refused to walk they dragged her by her leash. Price was never concern as we would do anything for our dog. But we had noticed an increase in prices and tests, procedures etc that were being recommended but didn't make complete sense for reason of visit. Now that we have found a new veterinary practice we can see how expensive their prices were and the extra tests/visits they were adding on. Do not recommend this practice, especially if your dog is fearful or has anxiety at the vet. Their website claims they are FearFree however the past couple visits I did not see this implemented, quite the opposite actually."
"I used to love Companion, but have noticed a steep decline in services, while the fees have remained the same or increased. My dog has always been increasingly anxious every time we had a vet appointment despite the heavy dosage of anxiety medicine prescribed for this purpose. However, I brushed it off thinking who likes to go to the vet and get shots? I should have listened to my gut, though, because I've switched vet practices to one highly recommended by my neighbor and my dog is his normal self, wagging his tail at the practitioners, eating the treats gladly, not shaking, and allowing the vets and vet techs to perform exams. Previously, my dog would be so anxious that we were sent home multiple times before they were able to clip his nails or administer vaccines, which often involved him getting so worked up he would not walk on the sidewalk toward the vet office. The last straw for switching vets was when I scheduled day care for my dog the morning before I had a flight so my friend who would be watching him while I was out of town could pick him up from day care on her way home from work. Previously when I scheduled the appointment, I was told my dog needed a parasite test. He has never had parasites and his previous tests have always come back negative, but I do understand that this may be necessary for ensuring the safety of the dogs so I have always complied and not had an issue with the frequent testing. When I scheduled the appointment, I was told he could have the test done at day care without issue. However, once I arrived, I was informed they could not accept him because he did not have the most recent fecal exam. I understand that the test was necessary but wish it would have been communicated more clearly to me and not been so disorganized, as some of the other reviews have also mentioned. If it had been more clearly communicated, I would have had no issue taking him before instead of the day of, when I was going out of town. Overall, I would recommend exploring your options for other vet practices in the area."
