Oppo Plumber

"I work for a general contractor and have subcontracted plumbers in many parts of the country. So I really should have known better. Beware, Oppo Plumber appears to be a front for another company. Oppo Plumber actually redirects to “Premium Home Service” but when you call this is not apparent. I was told when I called that there was a $229 charge for the initial service call and then repairs would be additional. This is not unusual. However, when the tech arrived they claimed we needed to install a new water heater due to a couple water spots. I found that immediate feedback to be suspicious. I said not to do anything with it at this time. The main issue was a leaky toilet. He said it needed a new wax ring and that the charge would be $225. I said that I already paid $229 for a “service call” and that $225 for a wax ring replacement was too high. He said the $229 was a membership fee. But “Bob” who took my initial call never said anything about a membership. I dug into it a little more online and found more and more problematic results for “Premium Home Service”. Also, when reading the reviews for Oppo Plumber more closely, I suspect they are fabricated. I tried to get the $229 refunded but they said it was not possible as the “technician has already visited the job”. Unfortunately the lesson was learned the hard way. Be smarter than I was and don’t call these people."
