From the very night that we had the issue, The initial diagnosis by Freddy at 11 PM on an emergency basis was friendly and professional. The very next day Freddy had a new compressor ordered for delivery on the following business day. The new compressor was installed by Freddy and Mike. Both technicians were extremely professional and extremely friendly. What they told me was the process happened just as they described. I also appreciated dealing with my account representative Travis from the main office. "I've been using their services for many many years for the multiple HVAC and Make-Up Air Units we operate, and for the most part felt pretty good about them. However after several years it seemed too coincidental that on every preventative maintenance service call they came on twice a year they always seemed to find little extra things wrong needing repair. It wasn't until their most recent service call that I questioned the "extra's" they were recommending, so I contacted a friend who owns his own HVAC company and asked him to send one of his technicians up on our roof to inspect the items General's service man was recommending. Turns out that 3 of the 4 items recommended were in perfect running condition and required no attention whatsoever. The fourth item being recommended for replacement was a Service Disconnect Box that a Compressor electrically connects through. There was no question that this did indeed need to be replaced. General quoted us $635 to make that repair. Don't understand why it was so expensive because we picked up the identical Disconnect Box from Grainger for under $28 and had our maintenance man install it in under 15 minutes. Don't use this company!!!!"
