"This used to be my go to vet and I’m so disappointed with their care since Dr. Weber left. I’ve had 3 strikes with them and I likely won’t bring my pets back for anything but to pick up my dog’s meds. My oldest dog has had issues with drinking excessive water and peeing on the floor for months. When I brought him in for the second time to address this, right after our favorite doctor, Dr. Weber left, the vet we saw said it’s likely a behavioral issue. I can’t understand how my dog lapping up several bowls of water a day would be a behavioral issue. He’s not even marking where he goes- he’s peeing in his tracks because he can’t hold it, and I wouldn’t be able to either if I drank so much water. I am worried about diabetes and evidently nobody thought to test for this on the multiple occasions I brought him in for this specifically so I will have to go elsewhere and spend more money. I then recently took one of my other dogs in that had never been here before because he had injured his back. The vet wanted to do a senior panel of blood work which ended up costing nearly $300, it was more than his X-rays. This was well over a month ago now- I keep calling trying to find out what the results of the blood work were and keep getting told I’ll be called back by a vet about it, but it never happens. The last incident was when I picked up my dog’s heart medication which is nearly $200 for less than a month supply and when I walked out, the bottle felt light. These pills are BIG. I decided to open the bottle before I left to go home and it only had 11 pills in it when there were supposed to be 50. I went back in, the front desk staff was super nice about it and they replaced it with a full bottle but I’m really not sure I would’ve been so lucky if I hadn’t noticed until I got home before the weekend where they’re closed for two days. I count my dog’s pills now. I am disappointed with these experiences and feel I have thrown away hundreds of dollars for nothing at a time where we’re all struggling through economic issues. I just want to make it clear VSMR was great to us when my littlest did PT and the front desk staff has always been great as well. I think the vets need work."
"If you want a vet who genuinely cares about your pet then go to Colonial Manor. We came here for one of my dogs surgeries and ended up switching to them for both of our dogs needs. They are so compassionate about what they do. Wouldn’t go anywhere else!!"
"I called first thing in the morning because my dog had what could have been a serious problem. Even though we were not regular patients here, they were kind enough to squeeze us in. The problem was addressed aggressively and she’s now on the mend. We will now be regular patients at Colonial Manner. Thank you for your kindness and expertise."
"It was hard to find a vet that would take me the same week I got my pup. So as always I ask for referrals for places always. My friend referred me to them and they gladly took me in as a new puppy mom to help check up my new mini golden doodle. Their prices are fair and they were all so nice there. I would definitely recommend them for your pet ! You won't be sorry!"
"I took my dog here years ago when I lived in Homer Glen and had a great experience. Years later and after a few moves, I needed a second opinion, and found myself taking my old dog back to Colonial Manor. It isn’t close to where I live but I will be back. I trust this vet and they are realistic with senior dog care and not just trying to push unnecessary treatments. I’m willing to make the drive to take my dog back. Thank you Colonial Manor!"
