"I just finished my last day of Renato's two week Basic Jewelry course. First week is fabrication, second is stone setting. This is THE way to go if you are interested in getting your feet wet for a hobby, or a career. Certainly, you would need additional training to become a bench jeweler for work, but this is a wonderful start. Renato is a fantastic teacher, and his curriculum will keep you interested, and challenged. To give you an idea of what you can learn in two weeks, I created close to ten rings, all the way from sheet, and a nice stone pendant. I became pretty proficient with soldering, and look forward to further practice on my own. Renato also taught me a wealth of information about polishing, and refurbishing old jewelry.
